1st Annual Ohio Heavy Con planning
What is a heavy game? Well, I'm not interested in getting into that argument (at least not here). So, for this list, "heavy" means any game that's hard to get played at a random game night. Some games I expect to see on this list include TI3, Advanced Civilization, 18XX, Splotter, Arkham Horror, Formula D, etc. However, if someone wants to do a Reiner Knizia marathon (ok, mini-marathon since this is only a 3-day event), that's fine too. The only catch is that you've got a copy of the game and can find other people to play with.
Here's how it works:
*Add an item containing the game you own and want to play, and include specifics, such as the number of players, expected play time, level of experience, and so on
*Keep track of folks who've agreed to play in your game entry, so we can all see if a game is full. It's TOTALLY OK to plan multiple sessions if you're so inclined
*Work with your players to coordinate a time and place for your game
That's it! As you sign up, be mindful of how much real time is involved in games, including setup, tear down, and possibly waiting for one or more of the other players before you begin.
I'll start keeping a schedule up top here as we start to identify times. Until then, get those gears working and plan Fun Things!
**if you don't own a game but are hoping someone else does, add a comment at the bottom of the geeklist. Depending on the game, there's a decent chance some one else will have a copy that they'd be happy to get played.
1. Nathan has kindly put together a spreadsheet (HeavyCon - Ohio - 2016 Schedule[/q]) where we can more easily track what games are scheduled when. Feel free to add your games once they've got a firm time.
2. We're currently at 8 people pre-registered for the event. Please, please, either paypal the pre-registration fee to firstname.lastname@example.org or call Epic Loot and give them your credit card information. We really would like to know how many people to expect.
3. Looks like t-shirts won't be available for pre-order. We'll have a few available at the event. If people like them and we run out, we can have some more printed and mailed.
