OK - some simple rules - please take a few minutes to read them:
What is a math trade?
New traders should read all of the following rules (and the above link). If you're experienced, you could probably get away with just reading the allowed items part, as I'm not breaking much new ground here, but note that you'll be expected to abide by the rules, so it's probably a good idea to read through anyway.
-Anything from BGG, RPGG or VGG. Try to have at least one item from BGG or RPGG per VGG item.
-Gift Certificates for Tabletop Game and Hobby valued $5 or more. Please do not to include gift certificates for other stores (local or OLGS) as we are also trying to support Tabletop (our host) with this.
To add a gift certificate or other outside the scope item, please enter Outside the Scope of BGG for the game title. Then in the body of the entry you write something like this:
+altname+$XX Gift Certificate to Tabletop Game and Hobby-altname-
This is a no-ship math trade. You (or someone you trust) must be able to physically bring your games to Tabletop Game and Hobby on the above date to participate. No I will not mail your games to you. (No not even if you send me pre-paid boxes.) Physically present means just that.
To list an item, add an item to the trade GeekList. Each listing must contain at minimum the edition (i.e., publisher and version, if more than one), language and condition of all items. "Edition pictured" is NOT an acceptable description, as it is unclear in the OLWLG (and it's faster to type most publishers than it is to type "edition pictured" anyway). You are encouraged to use the BGG Marketplace condition scale and to detail any blemishes for anything worse than "like new". If it is a PnP game, please include details about materials used.
Unless stated, it will be assumed that your game is the English Edition or has English Rules. If the primary language is something other than English, this needs to be clearly stated, even if the game is language independent.
If you'd like to add anything that does not have an XGG entry or otherwise use an alternate name, use a board game entry and select Outside the Scope of BGG (id=23953). In the description for your item, include a title, formatted like this: +altname+Pick 2 of 5 Games!-altname- You MUST use this if your main item is a portion of an item with its own listing; for example, if you've got just the Scout part of Carcassonne: King & Scout as the Geeklist item, list it under Outside the Scope, not the K&S entry. (Please read this last part in the spirit of the rule; I hope it's clear that I'm not talking about CCGs or 3M games that are missing a single piece.)
To add sweeteners to an item, use the Insert Geek Link dropdown. Do NOT add links to any items unless you're including them as a sweetener.
If you are listing 2 identical copies of any item you MUST use the Copies functionality of the OLWLG by putting the number of copies in your description.
For any item that is not new in shrink, please inventory it. You will be responsible for any missing pieces not clearly identified in the item description.
You may not edit an item in any way that would be construed as a downgrade (worse condition, removing a sweetener, etc.) Should you need to downgrade a listing, re-list the item, then change the old listing to an Outside the Scope entry that references the new item number. DO NOT SIMPLY DELETE THE OLD LISTING; some people make notes about the GeekList and get confused when items are deleted.
You should subscribe to each of your items in the trade in case anyone has any questions about them.
I reserve the right to remove any entries at my discretion. I also may submit a blank wantlist on your behalf. This will likely not happen, but I reserve the right anyway.
Only mistakes made by me in my capacity as moderator will invalidate the results. If anyone (myself included) checks the wrong box in Step 4, that's very unfortunate, but the trade must go on. While I obviously don't plan on making mistakes, your patience is appreciated if some mistake on my part, say, delays something in the OLWLG.
Use of the OLWLG is required. If you want to give anyone GeekGold, please tip JeffyJeff.
Thanks for reading to the bottom here - you may be in a minority.
Please enter lots of items and have some fun with this. Good luck!
Legalese and Computers:
Any Math Trader who accepts a cash value trade (either in the form of GC or actual cash) is conducting a direct sale through the site and is subject to the associated commission fee required by the Terms of Service just as with any other sale. For information on how to do this, please see Cash Value Trades in Math Trades (and how to make a geek market listing for them). Someone bring me a bag of Oreos.
