1. Board Game: On the Underground [Average Rating:6.90 Overall Rank:1111]
Started the day playing this one with Adrian, Nick and Keith. I really enjoy this game for the strategy of having two rail lines and what type of points to go for as well as the time the game goes for. Nick was a runaway lead early on but Adrian won by the end of it all. Keith came in a close second. I made it to 3rd place by obtaining a large number of last player pity points. Somehow, probably due to the early lead and people avoiding allocating him any extra points where possible; Nick came in last. Definitely recommend this game for anyone: it is easy to teach/learn and quick to play.

2. Board Game: For Sale [Average Rating:7.22 Overall Rank:278]
Again, played this with Adiran, Nick and Keith. Quick little filler game that is quite enjoyable! Also super easy to teach and learn. Keith won this one. :-)

3. Board Game: San Juan [Average Rating:7.27 Overall Rank:254]
Keith taught Nick, Adrian and myself this card version of Puerto Rico. I really enjoyed it - would say it's a cross between Puerto Rico and Race for the Galaxy although others may disagree. Like race I struggled early on to decide which cards were expendable and which were keepers. But ended with a decent score in the end. Adrian won by a couple of points from memory.

4. Board Game: Formula D [Average Rating:7.04 Overall Rank:464]
Keith left us and so I taught Nick and Stuart this one! Adrian played too It was probably the best game of this that I have had! Nick won but nobody could have predicted that early on. Adrian had a perfect start and was ahead the entire first lap; whilst I had a terrible start and stalled! Unfortunately Adrian spun out at the end of the first lap rolling the only number he couldn't roll in gear 4 - a 12!!! He then had to enter the pits at turtle speed!!! Then it was Nick and myself; neck and neck - until I took a corner a bit too fast rolling the only number I couldn't roll in gear 4 - a 12!!!! That was it for me; my car lay on the side of the race track and my sponsors would not be impressed with my careless antics! Then Nick had some amazing luck on all the turns at the halfway point and had no competition which saw him through to the end! Adrian and Stuart were close for 2nd and 3rd the rest of the way but unfortunately due to dinner commitments Stuart had to leave his car mid race. It was a great game!

5. Board Game: Kraftwagen [Average Rating:7.31 Overall Rank:846]
Ended the night with this one. I taught Adrian, Martin and Candace - all of which had not played before. This is a Matthias Cramer game - he is responsible for designing my favourite board game of all time and this game ranks quite high for me. After a teaching that was pretty much entirely out of the rule book as I did not remember the game as well as I thought we were underway. It is a really fast game once you get underway where the players can determine how long a round is and push it to the end quite fast. There is a lot of places to get points from and it is important to watch everything. I would say the hardest thing about this game is deciding whether to try to maximize your actions or moving ahead far enough on the roundel to take your ideal turn. Really enjoyable and I highly rate this one.

Myself and Leah began the day with this great combo-building card game. It was Leah's first time playing and, despite often not enjoying engine building games like this, she liked it! I won, although now that Leah knows what's what, that probably won't happen again...

Next up I taught Leah, Christophe and Mark this great card game, from the same creators of Troyes. I love this game but have always been pretty terrible at it. I think I may have even come last. Still love it though!

FINALLY I got to play this FANTASTIC game again (for some weird reason, a lot of people play it, love it, but think it's too tense to play again. I don't get it).

We played four player, so it was a team-based fiasco. Myself and Mark confused and contradicted each other across the table, while years of harmonious marriage obviously paid off between Christophe and Celine, who stole the victory in the last play.

This game is so damn good.

Next up the same group played this great euro about building an ant colony and exploring a garden. Sounds nice and relaxing but NO! This game will beat you down if you're not on the ball. Another one I love and have been glad to get a few more plays in recently. Mark won with a pretty high score, and we all learned just how much ants are terrified of mushrooms.

An interesting idea, trying to match up scratch-n-sniff fragrances with each other. Players move around the board sniffing the fragrances and collecting the ingredients for "orders". The points are tallied for orders fulfilled, and bonus points for correctly identifying the fragrances.

A sweet game. Jasmine, of course won, to me they started to all smell the same.

I played about 4/5 game of this with the various expansions and with games ranging from 4 to 7 players as part of soft-playtesting for the One Night Ultimate Werewolf tournament at WABACon.

I got some really good feedback of things that did and didn't work, and worked out more errors I made to improve on for the tournament. One of the biggest was that we all like the Squire, who got to know who the werewolves originally were and got to see their new roles. But he is on the werewolf team, not the villager team that I originally thought and taught.

Thanks to everyone who indulged the weird combinations I suggested to try things out.
