Games you can play with just an unmodified American/English checkers set

There are lots of games that you can play on an 8x8 checkerboard if you have lots of checkers. (For instance, I recommend that you try Breakthrough, which uses 16 pieces a side, or Dameo, which uses 18 pieces a side.)Recommend
But what games can you play if you restrict yourself only to the 12 pieces per side that come with an Americaan/English checkers set? And if you refuse to modify the board (e.g. no shrinking it to 7x7, or 6x6, etc.) or mark special cells? And if you refuse to play on the intersections of cells (which would convert an 8x8 board to a 9x9 board) instead of the interior of cells?
That drastically limits your choices. This is a geeklist that lists the options of which I am aware.
Feel free to add your own suggestions. But please make an effort to conform to the criteria: an unaltered checkerboard + max 12 checkers per side.
Just to be clear: I want to keep this list to games that are played on an 8x8 board, not a subset of the board (6x6, 7x7, etc.). A subset of checkers (that is, fewer than 12 per side) is fine though. The reason for the difference is the following. Speaking for myself, I know for me to play on a squares-subset of the board I would need to cover unused squares with a piece of paper or some such thing, to remember which squares are in play. But that would count as modifying the board, in a way. Unused checkers, by contrast, can just be left in the box.
