Nova Scotia No-Ship Math Trade : Hal-Con 2017
- JP DecosseCanada
If you've never participated in a math trade before, some information and helpful links are at the bottom of the header for your convenience.
HOW TO MATH TRADE : RULES AND GUIDELINES
1. Add games to this Geeklist (accurate description, version & language)
2. Complete want lists via the OLWLG
3. Show up on trade day to drop off your old games, and pick up new ones!
We'll be using the On-Line Want List Generator (OLWLG) for want list maintenance, submissions, and trade results. If this is your first math trade, you'll want to head over to the OLWLG website (http://bgg.activityclub.org/olwlg/), and find the login link. Enter your BGG username and click submit, which will send login credentials to your GeekMail inbox. From this point, you should be able to access our trade list on the OLWLG site without much hassle.
You're currently viewing the Main Trade Geeklist. If you would like to enter a game into the trade, please find the "add item" link at the bottom of this header. If you'd like to see particular items in the trade, be sure to check out the Request List, or visit the Maritime Tabletop Gamers Buy, Sell & Trade group on Facebook.
OPENS: Thursday, August 24th, 2017
CLOSES TO ENTRIES: 10:00pm ADT Sunday, September 17th, 2017
WANT LISTS DUE: 10:00pm ADT Wednesday, September 20th, 2017
RESULTS POSTED: ASAP after Want List deadline!
TRADES HAPPEN: Sunday, September 24th from 6pm to 8pm
LOCATION: 1256 Barrington St, Halifax NS (The Board Room Game Cafe)
Please only enter games in this trade if you will be physically present in Halifax to participate in the trade. Tables will be marked for dropping off and picking up games, and will be monitored by the trade organizer during the timeframe.
If circumstances are such that you cannot appear in person during the pick-up/drop-off window above, you will be responsible for making suitable pickup/delivery arrangements (including shipping costs if required). These details must be arranged in advance, and communicated to the trade organizer by dropping an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Boardgames, boardgame related items, Video Games, RPG items, Gift Certificates, GeekGold and non-gaming nerdy items are all permitted. There is no limit to the number of entries each person can have.
Note: Any Math Trader who accepts a cash value trade (either in the form of GC or actual cash) is conducting a direct sale through BGG and is subject to the associated commission fee required by the BGG Terms of Service just as with any other sale. For more information, click HERE.
Non-game entries must be added as "Outside the Scope of BGG", "Miscellaneous Game Merchandise" or "Miscellaneous Game Accessory" and must include the +altname+ brief description -altname- format in the description of your item to ensure they appear properly in the OLWLG.
You must describe, as accurately as possible, the condition of both the components and box, language and edition of your item and any sweeteners ("edition pictured" is not acceptable). You must also inventory the game's components and list anything missing and/or damaged. If no condition description is present, it will be assumed that the game is complete, in like-new condition and is the most recent English edition.
Please check for any questions about your items before the submission deadline, and respond in a timely fashion. Any resulting changes to the item description that might be perceived as lessening the value of said item, should result in a new item being posted, and the old one being deleted.
You may include more than one game or sweeteners in your offer. Additional games/sweeteners must be listed in the main item text using GAMEID formatting. Example: Coloretto is Coloretto, entered as [ G A M E I D = 5782 ] (without the spaces). To find the Game ID, go to the game's BGG page. The Game ID is on the right labeled "ObjectID:" The same ID is also embedded in the page's URL. If you don't use this format, your sweeteners won't show up in the OLWLG properly.
As the OLWLG isn't new-user-friendly, it is recommended that each participant work on their want list and submit it early to avoid unpleasantness. You can make changes and resubmit it at any time during the submission period.
Have fun and good luck with your trades! If you have any questions or comments, please drop an email to email@example.com.
INFO FOR FIRST TIME MATH TRADERS:
Rahdo does a great (and extensive) run through of Math Trades in this video series:
It's best to work on your want list early since you can always make changes and resubmit your list anytime before the want list submission deadline.
Creating want lists is not the same as submitting them. You will receive a confirming GeekMail message when you submit your want lists (it may be truncated). If you don't get one, your want lists haven't been submitted properly.
Use of the OLWLG (On-Line Want List Generator) is required for this trade. If you have never used the OLWLG tool before, please read the wiki page. Please consider tipping JeffyJeff some GG for his ongoing support.
