Looking to play live if possible. I have a couple PBEM games going but the fluid nature of turns in this game is really great for live online play as i keep forgetting what my plan was 2 and 3 turns in future in my email games.
Experience Level: 7 games played
Willing to Teach: Yes
Time Zone: USA CST; GMT-5
Format: at this time, would prefer live only. game can be done in 2 hours or less. Typical availability is at 9 or 10 PM, CST.
The 16th century São João Baptista, also known as Botafogo (Spitfire) was a Portuguese galleon warship considered the most powerful warship in the world at the time.
Format: VASSAL PBEM via dropbox. I could play live as well but November is a rather busy month for me, so in that case most likely only possible in December.
Experience Level: complete newby. But am reading carefully the rules, and looking at some instructional videos. The system does not seem difficult, the rules are well written but dense and with many special situations. Almost ready to start.
Time Zone: Europe GMT+1
I have an interest in learning this system, and looking to play several scenarios with someone willing to play/teach.
Number of Games? Only God Knows, but I don't have that many fingers and toes (of course some have been shot off )
Teaching? Yes, I always take newbies. If we don't do things like that, our hobby dies and our favorite games become dust covered memories. besides, guns don't like being covered in dust. arrrh
Vassal Assisted e-Mail (I will explain when you sign up).
DropBox can be helpful during set up. Afterward it is ignored.
This year's multi-man blind Gunslinger Game has commenced. Turn 1 was completed yesterday. We currently have 26 players, 2 more than the largest game to date (making this current game the new record). We had 28 but a pair of players dropped out.
Time to begin anew. Learning from last game I have reduced the game to 6 boards, which ought to make the game faster and even more treacherous and deadly. I will also pick a specific date so players are restricted to weaponry available at that time (1880 and before).
There is still time to join. We have a current turn around time of 8 days between when you send your turn to me and I complete resolution of those turns. Given that there then is about 5 more days between then and the time you have to dispatch the next turn, you have something in the neighborhood of 13 days to get turns in.
Most players will find they can get their turns figured out in ten minutes or less.
Players joining the game in progress will be able to walk onto the board from one of the board edges. Again, there is still time to join.
Let's see if we can exceed 30 Gunslingers this time.
Drop me a line via geek mail or through my regular e-mails or by signing up here (be sure to include your normal e-mail address).
(Redundancy is eminently practical given the reliability of e-mail systems.)
I can usually get about 4-5 logs a week in. This series works really well by email; you can usually finish a whole battle in about 20-30 logs. Happy to play any scenario, ideally work through a few of them.
