This math trade is for those attending Lobster Trap in 2017. Only those who will be in attendance should participate. (It is acceptable, but not generally recommended, to have a proxy who will be attending make your exchanges. Should you choose to do this, you must explicitly list who your proxy will be on all of the items that you list.) Anyone who ends up not attending will be responsible for all shipping charges (i.e., both directions).

Request list: Lobster Trap 21 Math Trade - Request List

=====

Dates:

Deadline to add games: 7:00 PM EDT on Thursday, October 18th.
Want Lists Due: 10:00 PM EDT on Thursday, October 25th.
Results Posted: Later in the evening on October 25th.
Trade Happens: At Lobster Trap. Please deliver your games to folks as early as possible.
NOTE: The auction won't end until November 5th, so there will be plenty of time to put untraded items in the auction.
=====

Brief Rules and Information:

* You must verify and accurately describe the condition of your items, and state the language. Referring to the picture is not sufficient since those don't appear in the OLWLG. However, choosing a picture that matches the version you are offering is preferred.)

* If you do not state when you will be at Lobster Trap, it will be assumed you will be there all four days. If this is not the case you must say when you will be there in each of your item descriptions.

* We will be using Jeff Michaud's OLWLG (On-Line Want List Generator) for both generating and submitting want lists - see: (obsolete thread, please use guild, see base post) Math Trade Online Want List Generator (OLWLG) - Discussion, Problem Report, etc thread if you aren't familiar with the tool.

* Only games and gift certificates are allowed as main items. Other items are allowed as sweeteners; however, cash is NOT allowed.

* Note that the recipient of a gift certificate must pay 3% commission to BGG - see Cash Value Trades in Math Trades (and how to make a geek market listing for them) for details.

* We will be using Users Trading as the tiebreaker, with 91 iterations using seed 1428571.

* Duplicate protection is enabled; see Jeffy Jeff's Jeffy Jeff's OLWLG: Duplicate Protection For Dummies for how-to instructions.

* If you no longer wish to trade an item, it is preferable to simply add a comment saying that you will be submitting a blank want list, changing the item to "Outside the scope of BGG", and changing the description to:

Small World, Schmall World. How about a game where you can actually make out which terrain is which and easily see everyone's pieces on the board?

This is the second English edition, aka the one where the English rules aren't full of holes; the first English edition had awful rules (and at least one counter error).

It's been played but is complete and in very good condition. The box has minor shelfwear.

This is an oddity: a no-luck racing game published in 1955 by Parker Brothers (and subsequently by others). Had a revival of sorts after Phil Orbanes wrote an article about it for Games & Puzzles.

This is the original Parker Brothers edition, in English. The box lid is in lousy shape, with pieces coming off, but the box bottom is OK and the contents are in fine shape.

This is a Knizia design only available from Desyllas, a Greek publisher. It's a simple but not uninteresting set collection game. It is not a reskin of any other Knizia design as far as I am aware (and I've played a lot of his games).

This is the international edition which has rules in several languages including English.

The game has been punched and played but is still in very good condition.

Second (and last) edition. There are German and English rules. (There are action cards which only have German on them, but there are just a few types so it's not hard to remember what they do.)

Played a few times, so the file cards naturally have some light marks on them from the paper clips. The box sleeve has a little wear.

This is a paragraph-based mystery game, not entirely unlike Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective.

It's been played a few times; all components are in excellent condition. The box has minor wear. There is no "How to Write a Mystery" booklet but I am not convinced it was ever included - I see no pictures of it anywhere.

This is the "adult" version only available at Target.

It is complete except for the key cards, which are not included. If you use the app to generate the patterns then this doesn't matter; I use the cards so I wanted more cards.

Some of the word cards have not been used at all. The others were used very little (maybe two or three rounds). The cardboard bits were also used very little. The blank cards are still blank.

This is an Alan Moon design (or designs, since there are two different games you can play with the cards) which was only published in this Japanese edition.

It's been played just a few times and is still in excellent condition. It includes a printout of the (unofficial) English translation.

An Alex Randolph design which is sort of similar to Robert Abbott's Confusion in that only one player can see which piece is which on a given side, but with chess pieces. (In this game there are two versions, one where you can see your pieces and one where you can see your opponent's pieces.)

The pieces have some wear and a few have marks which seem to be manufacturing errors, so you might need to paint the blank sides. The board is OK. The box has damage but is functional. Includes a printout of my translation.

This is a chess variant in which the players build the board (from individual wood squares) at the start and then can modify it during play.

This was one of Hexagames' line of abstract games in wooden boxes. There may have been an outer cardboard sleeve, but if so it's long gone. The box is in fine shape and the components have probably never been used (the chess pieces are still sealed).

The rules are in German but my translation is posted on the game page. As a bonus, the translation identifies the differences between this and Choiss, a similar chess variant, so you can play Choiss with this set.

Three chess variants played with cards/tiles:

1. Chex. This is the very first edition called Chess Cards, which doesn't have the same rules as the later editions (although they're similar). The box is very squashed but still more less works as a box. The components are fine.

2. Tile Chess. This is the first edition which has cardboard tiles but also supports up to six players (the second edition only supports four). It's unused as most of the pieces are still attached. The box lid has bowed out somewhat over time.

3. Express Chess. First edition (I think), Safari deck. It hasn't been played.

Decent Michael Schacht game that I just haven't played in a long time. It's the original German edition but the components are language-neutral and a printout of the official English rules is included.

The components are in fine shape. The box bottom is indented along one edge due to being stored on wire shelves that are a bit too small.

Sweetener: Banditos, also by Michael Schacht. This was one of his Spiel aus Timbuktu games that had to be cut out. Someone (not me) cut it out nicely and bagged it with the original German rules and a printout of the English rules - it's in good shape.

A lot of two similar dexterity games:

1. Sorry! Sliders. This has little to do with Sorry - it's more of a poor man's Crokinole, with players sliding pieces to try to score points in a central circular arena. The Sorry element comes in only in the scoring - in which you're trying to get pawns home - and in the pawn-shaped sliders. The track pieces are modular so you can play with two, three, or four players.

It's been played, but not too much; all components are present and in good shape.

2. Disney Pixar Cars 2 Sorry Sliders: World Grand Prix Race Edition. Another sliding game but this one is vaguely similar to PitchCar in that each player now has just one sliding piece and it is moving around a racetrack. The track isn't as configurable as a PitchCar track but there are obstacles that can be placed as desired and track areas with special effects.

The game has been played very little so all components are in very good condition aside from some curvature to some of the track sections. I don't think this will hurt play particularly and the cardboard could probably be flattened again.

Two books of old boardgames you can play:

1. The Boardgame Book by R. C. Bell. This is the original slipcased edition (with more laid-in sheets than later editions). The slipcase has a little wear. The book is generally fine but some pages have slight corner folds. The extra sheets are all there and the parts sheet is uncut. Some of the game sheets have wear from handling.

2. Great Board Games by Brian Love. The parts sheets are uncut. The interior of the book is in fine shape. The cover has scuffing and is faded in areas from sun exposure (it's very large so it tends to stick out of shelves).
