Please note - I have removed all old placeholders from this list. Please only use this list to record the receipt of games actually received from your Santa.

Only use placeholders to let your Santa know you received your package but are waiting to open it. When you actually open the package, please update the entry with the game(s) you received and express your reaction for your Santa. Please let me know if you experience any problems with this via GeekMail. Sorry for any confusion...now on to the list:

Since we just got our Secret Santa Targets assigned --

Last year's episode of "Look what my Secret Santa sent me..." was well received, so I am creating the same list again for 2007.

I originally posted this as a way to let my Santa know when I receive my gift without him/her worrying about letting me know who (s)he is. Use this as a central area to record what our Secret Santas sent us. If you plan on using this list, you may want to make a note on your profile so your Secret Santa knows to look on the list for your receipt and reaction.

That way your Secret Santa can look to see if you received your gift and you can post any comments you may have about the gift here and you can reply without the identity of your Secret Santa ever having to be divulged!

If your Santa sends you more than one item, just list them all in one listing unless you think it makes more sense to list them separately. Remember to include any comments you want your Secret Santa to know!

I don't know about anyone else, but I generally obsess about whether a package has arrived at it's intended destination. I drive my wife crazy with checking tracking numbers constantly! So it will be nice to see when those gifts are actually received by the giftee (or are they just sitting unclaimed on the neighbor's porch?)

(I am just using a generic Christmas first item as a placeholder for mine until my gift arrives, at which time I will update it with the real gift). In case you were wondering - yes, I do have a probably unfounded fondness for this holiday.

Now for the big question - do you open the gift or allow it to taunt you from under the tree until your local Christmas/Holiday gift opening?

I'm hoping that I'm not on the recieving end of one of these...

My Secret Santa package arrived here a week ago and I'm just now getting around to adding it to this list.

My present.... quickly intercepted by the wife, wrapped and under the tree.

I've had an awesome experience with Secret Santa this year. Lots of fun geekmails from Santa and a nifty (a better adjective will be forthcoming when I open the mystery gift) present to boot!

Thanks Secret Santa!

Merry Christmas to everyone on the Geek.

Happy Holidays for those not celebrating Christmas. Enjoy the spirit of the greeting, if not the letter.

and the goodies are....

Arkham Horror

Power Grid: The New Power Plant Cards

Secret Santa you rule! The gifts were very thoughtful. Powergrid is one of my highest rated games. I really look forward to playing with the new power plants! Perfect choice for a game.

Arkham Horror blew me away. It was so incredibly cool to unwrap that particular game on Christmas. Its been my most sought after game. Lovecraft is such a cool theme. Solo Lovecraft is really really cool. I just don't get enough time to play with groups these days, so having a great solo playable game like this means a lot to me.

In a couple years I'll get "Baby's First Cthulu" and give it a whirl with Daniel. Until then I look forward to lots of fun solo games in Arkham.

Candy cane trains (okay, I know there are no cars in this expansion but liked the colors of the photo I chose) came for me this morning from my Ohio Secret Santa (US SS or "main" SS, I have no idea).

I was beginning to feel a sense of anxiety over SS, since I had received "only" one taunt and nothing so far on the front porch, but I should never have doubted you, Santa!

Also in the box were some chocolate GG (mmm!) and a mystery package which is staying under the tree until Xmas morning. Santa, I promise that I only opened the gift-wrapped TTR:S because the dimensions were a complete giveaway (and it will be a perfect addition to our Xmas Eve game night). Really. I swear. It had nothing to do with my lust for this particular expansion.

Thanks for sending TWO gifts my way (three counting the chocolate!). I'm enjoying the suspense over the mystery box.

(12/25) Edit: The mystery box was...

Ra! Another "Love to Have" from my wishlist and one I can't wait to play this weekend! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Santa! Merry Xmas!

(12/28) Edit: I just got a box from my other SS. Neither card identified Santa's affiliations so I will post my thank-yous here and on the US-only version of this geeklist. The box (an Amazon shipping box returning to its point of origin from PA) gave no hint as to the identity of the mysterious Santa. Inside... as I lifted the cardboard flap I felt a sudden chill breeze at the back of my neck, as the last rays of the sun slipped behind the western hills... inside... was...

Fury of Dracula! A "must have" from my wishlist as it seems to get respect both as a 2-player game and as a 3- or 4-player game; quite versatile and useful in my world. Slipped into the Fury of Dracula box were some lovely extras and surprises - a homemade hot/cold therapy rice bag made with lovely fabric, a couple decks of mini playing cards (immediately confiscated by my 5-year-old daughter for playing the memory game), some chocolate (also confiscated by the 5-year-old) and a beautiful card! Thank you, Santa and Mrs. Claus! I'm delighted and looking forward to some quality gaming time this long weekend.

I couldn't wait and opened my package when I found it on my door step. What did I find? Not one, not two, but THREE games that I have been wanting for a while!!

The first game I saw was Container.

Then I looked further and found:

And lo and behold at the bottom of the box I also found:

Santa, you were far too good for me! I don't remember being that good this year. I'll work harder to be good in the New Year. Thank you very much.

I really didn't expect such a gorgeous gift from my secret Santa this year. I really wanted the game, since I'm one of the most devoted Wallace's fans, but after I opened the Mail box... I've found something more... WOW.

First it was the gift wrap. Japanese people taught me how important gift wrap is when you're giving a present, and my secret Santa must know everything about this. It makes you feel really important... thank you for that beautiful detail.

Chocolates!!! Delicious chocolates!!!

2 six sided, red dotted metallic dice!!

And one of the things I loved the most, was the card!

Also, I must say how much I appreciate this gift because it traveled from far far away with one of your elves, but I must say he did an outstanding job bringing my gift to my country. Santa, you managed to make everything just perfect!!!!

I must say that my secret Santa RULES!!!!! THANK YOU !!!!!

Dear Secret Santa,

thank you ever so much for sending me this great game. I know you promised me by secret message that I will love this one, but because it was so nicely gift wrapped I decided to leave it under the christmas tree until.... TODAY!
I was so excited when removing the wrapping and now I cannot believe it, that I got this game. Thank you SS and have a merry Christmas!

PS: My SS was quite fast. I got the package at the very beginning of December.

I want to thank my Secret Santa for Jambo and the expansion. I really wanted it when the reprint first came out, but I couldn't find an online store that had both in stock at the same time. So I ended up just putting it on my wishlist, hoping to get it down the road--and now I have it!

I played a few games with my brother over the last couple days. He's a former Magic player, so it appealed to him. We're still learning the cards, but we'll try out the expansion soon.

Thank you, Secret Santa person! The delivery person left the package at my side door, so I didn't see it when I got home yesterday. Wow! certainly doesn't do justice to my reaction to the surprise I received yesterday from my Secret Santa! I was told through tauntings over the past few weeks that my package would arrive on the December 22nd and it did! But how would that person be so sure...well I'll tell you! (A story that's bit on the longish side)

Yesterday, I was getting ready to go out for an emergency errand - my driver's license had expired. Since I was now on vacation from school, I made it a priority to take care of it that day - only an hour or so until closing. I let the kids know that a package should be arriving me and that they should be on the lookout for it. All of a sudden the doorbell rings, my daughter told me there was a boy in a santa hat there asking for me. I came to the top of the stairs and from a distance it looked like one of my students...upon closer inspection, I realized it wasn't. When I got to the door, he said he had something for me from my BGG Secret Santa and handed me a wrapped present that was a few inches wide. I opened it to find Miscellaneous Game Accessory a pair of Thoughthammer dice. I looked at him rather stunned and followed him down the walkway past the front of my house and around the corner to my driveway.

Standing there was a woman and her husband. She told me that she was indeed my Secret Santa. We hugged! I was so amazed - I couldn't believe someone local was my Secret Santa. However, she told me that she didn't live nearby! Huh? I looked at her car and the license plate said "Virginia" and I live in "Connecticut"! It took me a few seconds to realize who she really was....she was the one that had been corresponding with me as a "third person" for my Secret Santa so that we didn't have to go through the very public Santa mail system. Pretty sneaky, but effective! Just that morning I sent an email to her as a response to one of my Secret Santa's messages from earlier in the week - I had been pondering the clues to his/her identity. The clues included that it was someone I had talked to before but never met and by the time I opened the last gift, I would know the identity of my Secret Santa. It was really tickling my brain who it could be. When I responded, I checked her profile page to see her last login to figure out if she was on then...maybe my SS would get the message right away. It was then that I noticed she had posted a note to her Secret Santa that she left to go out of town for Christmas...I hoped that she would get on from wherever she was and forward my message if possible. Little did I know that she was coming up to Connecticut to spend time with relatives as she does annually...and to be making a special delivery my way! Not only that, but she's staying in Milford, a town that is a little over an hour away where I sometimes get together with friends to game. What a coincidence!

After all of these revelations came to light, my family (husband, son, and daughter) joined all of us, and we exchanged introductions, and then her son went into the back of their car and pulled out a large wrapped box and brought it over to me. I was still blown away, and at that moment, my son seized control of MY gift! Something along the lines of, "I'll take that" was his response. NO! I was screaming inside - you can't do this to me! My husband meanwhile was quite amused as this was his plan all along - to deprive me of the joy of opening my gift early since they all knew it was scheduled to arrive yesterday. However, my Secret Santa (in a previous email) had told me it would be okay to open today. So, I decided to take back control of the situation. Since I knew I had to leave soon (and was very apologetic to my guests that had travelled so far), I said I should open it now so we could all experience the joy of the occasion. Just earlier that day, I was commenting that I wouldn't get to witness my own targets' reactions when opening their gifts, and would love to know how they felt when opening what I chose for them. So, it's a win-win right?! While we're all standing outside my house with snowflakes starting to gently fall down on us, I tore into the lovely wrapped box and inside were not 1, not 2, but 3 beautifully wrapped packages!

The first one to be opened was:

The Red Dragon Inn

My family and I were so excited as this was on my must have list...for some reason, my 11 year old son was very interested in this theme...a little too interested as you'll read later.

Next one to be opened was:

Blood Feud in New York

Score! I've been wanting this one for awhile now and have almost bought it from Tanga a few times. I love mob/mafia-themed games and so does my family. We were all so impressed with its largeness of scale and the shear amount of components included - 300+!

Last package left to be opened was:

Illuminati: Bavarian Fire Drill

Yes! I've been waiting to get this expansion! I have an early edition set of Illuminati from the late 1980s. My husband and I have played this since I was in college - it's one of my all-time favorites. So, this is a most welcome addition! Now, I can teach this to the kids.

We spoke for a little while longer, but, unfortunately time was running out and we had to say our goodbyes. After they left, I went inside to finish getting ready to run my errands and had to promise my son that we would play the new games when I returned later. When I arrived home, I went upstairs (exhausted) and signed on briefly. My son was prodding me again so I asked my husband to read the directions while I punching some the games' bits and watching a show I taped. I zonked during the course of this and I woke up to my son telling me that he was "getting drunk" and was close to winning. What?! My husband told me that they really liked the game. Apparently, my son told my husband that they should play without me since I was too tired. Not true - my son (just before Christmas) was telling a bold-faced lie to my husband just so he could play Red Dragon Inn then since he didn't want to wait any longer. They were playing MY GIFT without me! My husband felt horrible, but I could tell that they were really enjoying themselves...however, "I'm getting drunk" are not the words that any mother wants to hear uttered from her 11 year old when she’s half awake even if in jest. That being said, I know that he understands it's just a game and he's having fun with it just like when he plays Munchkin and Order of the Stick in terms of their comedic value. Now, I can't wait to partake in all of this good humor and gameplay myself!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you to my most generous Secret Santa for going above and beyond to make this a very memorable Christmas for my family and I. You'll never know how touched I was by the way you personalized this Secret Santa exchange from the emails, to showing up at my house today, to the items you chose for my family and I. I truly hope that we will get a chance to meet again - maybe even before you return to Virginia - and, if not, I hope that you and your family will have a very joyous holiday season and blessed new year!

Best wishes!
Your new geekbuddy in CT meeple

Zooleretto was fun with the game group last night. I am sure when my children return from winter break they will enjoy it took.

I finally got a message from my Secret Santa the other day wondering if I had received my package yet. He apologized for not sending it sooner, something about Mrs. Claus forgetting to pay the OnStar bill for the sleigh...

I hadn't received it quite yet (I had thought) but the news was encouraging. Well we opened presents here tonight and lo and behold the other people at my house had apparently received the package a few days ago and hid it on me until today!

I excitedly tore into the package to find this wonderful game that I've been eyeing ever since it came out but could never get my hands on for various reasons!

So thank you so much Secret Santa, you've made my Christmas that much merrier.

What's even more incredible is that you cared enough to do a little legwork for the second gift. It wasn't on my wishlist, as I'd never heard of it, and yet you got me a game that fits with my political slant and my nomadism:

I got another package about a week ago....I am not sure which one, but I got 2 additional games. I guess the trouble with 2 SS is that one may not know who is doing the sending.

So to which ever SS, thanks for the bonus goodies. :-). I have heard of neither game but will check them out.

Thanks Santa!! There's no better way to spend a Cold Winter Day than with a New Game When, it's cold outside this winter, I'll escape to the Desert on some cool grapecamellimecamelmintcamelgoldencamelpastel camels. I can't wait to get this on the table! This one's been on my wish list for some time, and you can't beat a Knizia game!.
But that's not all...Santa your elves also delivered Battle Line.

My Girlfriend's exact words when I showed her this game was "Great Another Game that I can beat you at.....just like Lost Cities" We played this last night, I really enjoyed it. By the way she didn't win the first gamesoblue but she's ready for a rematch

Santa ~ Thanks so much for your kindness and generosity!! The games will be well played and enjoyed. Merry Christmas to you and Best Wishes for a Healthy and Happy 2008!!!

WOOHOOO!!!

Santa, you're the greatest! Look what he brought me, look, look! It's Hamburgum! I got Hamburgum! Yippiiieh!!!

Yes, I couldn't be happier. The game arrived on time two weeks before christmas, but my loving wife decided it was best to put it under the christmas tree -- no chance of arguing, let alone peeking.

Santa, THANK YOU!

I finally was allowed to open my Secret Santa present tonight and found that I received Thebes! I'm really excited about this as I had the opportunity to play the game once when it first came out but was unable to get my hands on a copy as the distributors kept being out of stock when I tried.

Mrs. Claus even sent a very kind personal note which was very much appreciated by all.

But wait, that wasn't all because lurking in the box was also...
