Dad's Day (Start) Make an Offer List - LAST DAY - Ends on 2 July.
- Paul Boos(pmboos)United States
I am working to give my wife a gift on behalf of dad's day. I'm trying to clean out some games that aren't or most likely won't hitting the table. So here we go with another of my Make an Offer lists.
Here's how it works - I place an item up and you make an offer on it. Competing offers can come in as well, including your own counteroffers. At the end of the time frame, I will select which offer I accept including rejecting any I don't feel captures the 'value' in keeping it. (This would occur by me stating so at auction end. I may give a statement if the progressive ending time is reached and it isn't being accepted.)
You can make an offer on one item or across several items. When you make an offer across several items, state what you are offering AND all the items you are offering across on each item. Do this across all items where you are making an offer so this is transparent to everyone.
All offers and questions must be public. I will not respond to any questions or offers through geekmail. General questions can go at the bottom of the list.
You are expected to pay shipping unless you also state in your offer that you want shipping included (i.e. for me to pay it). This has less likelihood of being accepted.
As always, cash will catch my attention, but I am open to trades, and even other items of interest. What might they be?
I play around with electronic music, so synthesizers, drum machines, sequencers, effects pedals, accessories, etc. can always be offered. I ask that they work. A few smaller items of interest: a Mattel Synsonics, any Korg Volcas Teenage Engineering devices, and a Kawai Q-80ex (the ex is preferred, I have a Q-80 and would take another as a back-up). Simpler items like high quality MIDI and audio cables, 3.5mm patch cables, and 2.8" Quick Disks are also possibilities.
gift cards are also great, we shop at Amazon, Harris Teeter, or Target the most. Of course ones like Visas or AmEx work as well. I'm thinking people may have unused amounts on cards that they just don't need... (We collect wine also, so a gift card to Total Beverage is also useful.)
Games for teaching others "Agile" stuff: I'm in need of 2-3 copies of Pandemic or Container to use for teaching systems thinking. Forbidden Island is another I use to help people understand Team Dynamics. I do need these to be complete to be useful.
Lego: basic bricks are needed most (2x2, 2x3, 2x4) in any and all colors. I'll still accept other Lego parts. I'm building out some kits for Agile training/Lego Serious Play. Just state what you are offering...
Games for me to play; any expansions I don't have. Of course I am trying to reduce my collection, and yet I would still consider games I don't have. (I am going to try and get my collection up to date with this. I love area control/influence, action point allowance, and worker placement mechanics the most. Dislikes: zombie and horror themes. I'm also interested in Wings of War Balloon Busters expansion (and various minis). I also would love a book version of the Microscope RPG (and the expansion).
In the past I have mentioned I'd accept books; my book backlog is quite long right now, so I don't really need any. I would consider recent guides to Italy and Croatia since we're hoping to go within the next year or two. I'd also consider sci-fi books by Ursula LeGuin if they are in good condition. I'm finding that since she has passed they have become a little hard to find.
This should hopefully give you lots of options to consider for trade suggestions! Of course, feel free to try something else...
You will find a mix of vintage games, kickstarters, Euros, abstracts, etc. in here.
Plan on the average game weight being 3 pounds (after being packed up) when you want to estimate weight; this will keep it simple (I'll state games likely to break that rule). My zip is 22044. I can easily ship with the US postal system and UPS. I can probably accommodate any box size. Locally arranged pick-up is also possible.
I will do my best to ship within a day or two of payment. Complicating this will be that from 3-7 July we will be taking some vacation, so if you approach the absolute end of the auction, your games may get delayed a few days in shipping.
I am shipping to the US, Canada, Europe, and Australia only - I have had things go missing when shipping to Latin America, Russia, and places in Asia.
End date - I'll start monitoring on 22 June. When an item has no bid activity within the last 12 hours, I'll declare that item done. This is up to my ability to monitor though, so if someone sneaks in, I'll consider it valid. Thus it is beneficial for you to put in an offer that is your best offer early. I'm mostly doing this method to stagger payment and shipping. I've gotten overwhelmed at the end of auctions before. If the auction hasn't ended by 2 July though, I will end it then.
Bid increments - Since it is a Make an Offer list, there are no bid increments per se, though I will probably chastise penny increments; at least make it a dime.
Reserves/Buy Nows - I may state reserves or buy now prices on some games. Use the reserves as guidance of where my head is at, I may take less, but you can be certain I'll take a reserve. Buy Now prices will be accepted unless I state that is revoked due to some other interesting offer (these will usually be ones that are crossing many games). Hey - if someone offers a Sequential Circuits Prophet T-8 or an Elektron SFX6 for something you can bet I'll be more interested in that!
Additions - I'll be adding to this list through Wednesday, 19 June.
