2020 New Zealand Math Trade
Do you have games you don't play anymore? Buy a game you thought you'd love but haven't played it since you opened it? Want more games but also made a New Year's resolution to spend less? Look no further, you can trade them here for new games for only the cost of shipping.
Refer to the wiki if you want any further information about what a Math Trade is.
The beauty of the Math Trade is that there's no risk - you'll only end up with games you want, or you'll get to keep your own games.

26/02 - Results are out - pending until midnight tonight
26/02 - Results are now final. If you're sending games, make sure you read this message and the rules in full. Don't be that person who has already received their games before they've sent any out.

So, what's new or notable about this Math Trade?
* We'll be using the Online Want List Generator
* Games with a BGG rank outside of the top 2,500 will not be able to be posted until Sunday 2 February 2020.
* Cash lists will NOT be allowed
* Like last time, the shipping window for this Math Trade conveniently lines up with the Hamilton BGBTB event.
Keen? Then read on.
You participate at your own risk in the math trade. If something goes wrong then unfortunately the responsibility lies with you. To protect all participants I reserve the right to exclude any user that I feel presents a risk to the integrity of the trade.
Rules and Instructions
I will regularly post updates. I recommend you check this header regularly and also subscribe to this discussion thread to keep informed.
Phase One – Adding Games to the Geeklist
The Math Trade is only open to BoardGameGeek members living in New Zealand.
When you add your game, please ensure you list the following:
1. The edition and language of the game (where relevant). If you are aware of multiple editions of the game, please specify which yours is.
2. Make sure the image matches the version you have. If it doesn't, you need to change it.
3. The condition of the components. "Good condition" is too vague a description - add as much detail as you can.
4. Confirm you have counted the components and list any that are missing.
I may remove and ask you to resubmit listings that haven't made an attempt to provide the above details.
In order to make your items more appealing, you may want to add one or more "sweeteners" to the item listing such as an expansion or a related game. For other games with BGG listings, please ensure you add a geek link in the body of the listing so the OLWLG can pick it up.
Until the first Sunday of the Math Trade, listings are restricted to only the top 2,500 ranked games on boardgamegeek. If your listing does not have a rating better than 2,501 it will be removed. Expansions do not have rankings but if the base game has a ranking better than 2,501 then you may list it in the first week. From 2 February this restriction will be dropped and lower rated listings will be allowed to be added. This rule is an attempt to give arguably better games better visibility on the list. If you want all your games to be listed together on the same page but some are ranked outside the top 2,500, please wait until after the first week to do so.
Cash listings will NOT be allowed for this Math Trade. My preference is for Math Trades not to have listings other than games so every second Math Trade I run excludes cash listings. The last one allowed them so this one will not.
Phase Two – Submitting Want Lists
Want lists must be submitted between Sunday 16th February and Tuesday 25th February.
Want lists are to be submitted through the Online Want List Generator here. The Want List Generator will be available shortly after the start of the Math Trade for you to start putting together Want Lists. Should the OLWLG fail, I will update the instructions on how to submit Want Lists manually.
If you are having problems figuring out what to do or how to do it, post in the comments of this geeklist or the discussion forum and someone will be able to help. But first, I suggest checking out these following guides:
Math Trade Walkthrough/FAQ for newbies
OLWLG page on the boardgamegeek wiki
Before you submit your want lists, you need to understand what duplicate protection is. I suggest your check out the section on duplicate protection in the FAQ to learn how it works and how to use it with the OLWLG. If you choose not to use duplicate protection, send me a message to let me know otherwise I will assume you have made a mistake and I may *correct* your lists, potentially resulting in you having fewer trades. (Usually around five or six people forget to use duplicate protection each Math Trade - hence why I assume not using it is a mistake. Read these instructions people!)
If you have any questions, please post in the comments or message me directly.
Phase Three – Sending Games
Games will need to be posted between Wednesday 26th of February and Sunday 8th of March. Do not submit any games to this Math Trade if you will be unable to deliver them during this period.
This window was deliberately aligned with Board Games by the Bay in Hamilton on the 29th and 1st. I encourage everyone who is within driving distance to attend and hopefully we can save some people some shipping costs.
You have two weekends to send your games. They do not have to arrive by the 8th of March but they do need to be sent. I am going to be a bit stricter on the shipping window this Math Trade. Unless you have a mutual agreement with the other party to meet up after the 8th, you may be asked not to participate in further Math Trades if you fail to send your games during the required period.
All postage costs are the responsibility of the sender. You must ensure that the games you send are packed so that they will arrive at their destination in the same condition as they left. This means ensuring the game is packaged well enough that it can survive the delivery without damage to the game box. Games do not have to be posted - they can be dropped off instead - though it is still the sender's responsibility to get the game to the recipient. Also be prepared that each game you list could potentially have to be sent to a rural address across the cook strait.
