I happened upon a reasonably priced copy of Tahiti yesterday; it's been one of those games that held some interest, but not enough to pay the usual going price. Adding it to my collection, I noticed that it was designed in part by Ralf zur Linde, whose name was familiar though I couldn't place it. Looking through to discover why it was familiar, I realized that I've played a lot of games designed by gentlemen named Ralf - and thus this geeklist.

There are other games by Ralf out there; I've only added those I've played, or wanted to comment on. Please feel free to add others.

The reason for this list; beyond the fact that Ralf zur Linde was one of the designers, the other designer credited is Ralf E. Kahlert (his only published design listed on BGG), making it a unique double helping of Ralfs.

I hope to try the game soon.

This is where I remember Ralf zur Linde from - his deisgn work published by VSK in the early 90s. Marino is a cute abstract; not enough to my tastes that I have a copy, but a game I'd be happy to play.

This might be Ralf zur Linde's best known game; I'm not sure, though. It's certainly the first of his games I heard of, and sought out; I definitely prefer Marino, however.

When looking for Ralfs, the first one I found was Ralf Burkert. This game - which is ranked ~2700 slots lower than either of his other efforts by BGG - is actually my favorite of Burkert's games. It's also nearly the only game I don't own purely because no one else enjoys it, so I won't get to play it.

Burkert's second highest ranked game; not a bad game, but not a game that did anything for me.

Burkert's highest ranked game, and one I'd actively avoid. For me, the biggest problem is that the game is very static, and just not all that interesting.

The next Ralf I came across while looking for Ralf zur Linde was Ralf Sandfuchs, half of the Krimsus Krimskrams-Kiste team. I fear that he hasn't had a game that's really worked for me yet; Die Pyramidie des Krimsutep being perhaps the worst example. It's nice to see a card game that tries to convery an exploration adventure, but this one just didn't work at all for me.

Definitely a better fit for me among Sandfuchs efforts, but I find that many of the ideas were used even more effectively in Stunt Academy.

Not a bad little game from Sandfuchs; it's one of the better takes on the theme I've played. Still not a keeper for me - it's too long for what it is - but I'd play it again.

The next Ralf I came upon was Ralf Lehmkuhl, the designer of Trias. Trias is one of those games I played a few times, which stayed in my collection for years, but just couldn't quite keep making it out. With the proviso that I haven't yet played Tahiti, it's my favorite from this list for now.

Of the other games designed by Ralfs on BGG, this one by Ralf Piecha might be the most interesting to me - and to be honest, it's only of mild interest, mostly because of the theme.
