This list is inspired by:
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/24780/

Here is how the chain of generosity works.
(lifted from the geeklist above, with some modification)

Boardgamegeek is a wonderful place. The friendly, helpful, generous users here make this one of the best online communities. I (also) would like to contribute to that spirit, so I have created the Australian BGG Chain of Generosity.

Here's how the Australian BGG Chain of Generosity (The Chain) works:

Step 1: The supplier (I will start) will seed the geeklist with a giveaway game. Anyone who wants that game can leave a comment to that effect. After 2-7 days (lister to determine) the original lister will randomly choose (using any random method they like, just make sure it is random) a recipient for the game, post the result in the comment and geekmail them to set up shipping to their house.

Step 2: The recipient of the game will then choose a game from their collection (probably from their trade list) and post it as an item here for more people (or maybe the same people) to comment on and enter. After 2-7 days they will randomly select an entrant, and that person will win the game. Contact and setup shipping etc.

Step 3: The new recipient repeats step 2.

and so on, happily ever after...

The Fine Print. (RULES)
1. You must comment to the item in question indicating you wish to be in the drawing to recieve it in order to be eligible to win.

2. If you win one, you MUST post a game of your own to give away in this fashion. If you don't like that idea, don't play.

3. In the unlikely event that no offers are made on your game with in 2 days after posting, try a different game in its place and make a note of that in the comments.

4. Supplier pays shipping, unless they indicate within the entry that the recipient will and under what grounds. Anyone signing up to receive an item where recipient pays shipping agrees to do so.

5. This Chain is only elligible for BGG members who have a postage location within Australia.

6. If you are the winner you need to contact the lister within 7 days of the draw completion. If you have not contacted the lister within 7 days the lister may nominate a new winner at random.

7. For this giveaway thread anything goes. Any sort of game, game accessory or game-related item can be put up to be given away.

Other Considerations:

The game you post should be one that most of the Australian BGG community might want to have. Ideally, one on your trade list. The dual-purpose of this list is to spread goodwill and give games a good home.

You can win multiple times. Just keep in mind each time you win a game you'll be giving another one away.

Keep the generosity flowing and post your next game giveaway as soon as you can. You do not need to wait until you recieve the game you won before you post your giveaway game.

Let the games begin.

An excellent condition SHAZAMM! Two player, mano e mano, tete e tete, dog eat dog. That's right. Have you got the nads to face someone else with nads apparently as big as yours.

Outmuscle
Outbluff
Outspell

In addition I will throw in

Mykerinos

This is not an option-they will be packaged together like Torvill and Dean, Sonny and Cher, Tiger and...OK I'm only giving away two games.

This Eurocentric game of archaeology with bits and bobs and-you know I only played it once and it was supposed to be like 2 player Santiago and I couldn't see it so leave me alone. Although it was a neat, quick, challenging game.

Both games are in beautiful condition.

Random selection will end on evening of Saturday 12th December

Card Game Chain

Ok lets play a game.

This game is called THREE.

From each set (A,B,C) of games below you get to pick one game if you win.
That means you get three games and you have to pick three.
My generosity will be forced upon you and you have to take them

Set A
Quietville
Grass
Sole Mio!

Set B
Mustang
Gang of Four
Elixir

Set C
Wickets Cricket Card Game
Continuo
Rugby Mania

I like the keep it rolling plan that has been used previously and will use the same system.
And because I am feeling all wacky and zany I will refer to this rule as the 24 hour rule.
Which means:
This will be drawn approximately 24 hours after the last entry for a ticket.
You know the deal I am not going to explain it any further, unless you really want me to.

p.s. if you think some of these games are not card games then you might be right.

Gosh, I am feeling a bit oppositional tonight.

p.p.s. The games are mostly in great condition. Sole mio's box is torn but still usable and grass has seen some play (many moons ago) but is still in good condition.

See you on the flip side and happy ticket grabbing.

There is some interest so...

Entrants are:
bigjobbies
Mr Lunch
GeneSteeler
ozjesting
tiggers
tallboy
mauii
coffeemanuksr
mikey

Extended to Saturday 12th pm sometime.

The chain just keeps going on and on and on and on... and I certainly hope it continues to do so well into the future. Does Geekosity have no bounds? To keep the ball rolling, I'm offering up Midgard for one lucky Geek. This is a nice little card driven area control game.

I'll draw the winner on Thursday evening sometime.

Sorry to keep you waiting, folks. Busy times!

I was going to list Oh, Pharaoh!, but remembered that I'd put it up for the December GeekGold lottery. If you're keen on that, check out Item for Geeklist "GfG Lottery: December - Santa is Coming to Get You"

so, up next on the block is your choice of:

Inn-Fighting shiny and in shrink, because there's not enough AT on this list

OR

Nobody but Us Chickens & Stone Soup. I think chickens has a crease in one of the cards, but I'm not at home to check until Friday.

Names picked out of a fedora with a suitable randomiser on Monday 21st.

EDIT: Drawing this one late tomorrow.

Some more about the games:

A raucous role-playing romp! This was the runaway hit of the last gamesday. We played it at least eight times as a filler, two or three times through in a sitting, with much laughter and smack talk. Absolutely achieves what it sets out to do... and there's something deeply satisfying about taking a chair to a Halfling.

Wasn't keen when I read it was a tricktaking game. But it is nothing of the sort. It's a terrific guessing game with elements of bluff. Friends whinge about it being luck but I've never lost! Love the steely resolve you need to make big plays. Reminds me of the tension of poker. It also provides one important element Euro-card games sorely miss: fun. Laugh-out-loud, point-the-finger and trash-talk fun. Unlike American games that attempt the same it doesn't overstay its welcome. Question its longevity but at the moment the perfect filler.

From my trade notes: A couple of the cards are a little worse for wear (there's a crease in one of the green ones). Other than that, it's still in good nick and very playable.

Stone Soup
shawn_low wrote:
Essentially bluff: players are dealt a hand of ingredient cards comprising numnbers 1-6 and salt. Each turn, players go round contributing cards face down to the pot. Ingredients must be played in order number and bluff can be called at any time. If the bluff is caught, the bluffer takes the pot, if not, the caller takes the pot. Putting salt down allows a player to avoid having to put an ingredient. First player to get rid of all their cards wins!

Samarkand is genuine Sid Sackson goldbag!

Sid Sackson is what you'd get if you combined Sid Meier with Steve Jackson in an unholy union to create a super mega game designer.

Winner will be drawn sometime between 21-25th December because...

I'm going to be away until after Christmas. I can draw the winner while I'm away but whoever wins will have to wait until after Christmas for me to post.

I'll invoke the 24 hour rule on Monday 21st. That is, the winner will be drawn 24 hours after the last entry OR Tuesday 22nd, whichever comes LAST.

I think it's time to part with this:

This is the Games Workshop edition of Cosmic Encounter.

The box is slightly crushed but all the components are there and it can take 6, count them 6!, players unlike the obviously inferior FFG version that can only take up to 5 players.

As sweeteners - two multiplayer gangster games:

and

I will also add to the mix (as they are unsuitable for a maths trade):

which has one blue deck card missing (but a white card should be able to be swapped in to replace it)

and

which has two cards missing (but has a card manifest at the back and three blank cards which can be used to replace the two missing cards)

I will give it to Australia Day before selecting the winning ticket.

C'mon people, five games with only two needed replacement parts, how can you go wrong?

THIS WILL BE DRAWN ON THE NIGHT OF THE 26TH OF JANUARY (though hopefully after AGE I'll still have a coin to flip)

It's probably not the castle that good King W last looked out of, but this can be your castle for the new year.

And it has a friend.

Joining your castle is the cities and walls of Lucca Città

The perfect companion for the good king to purvey.

Both have been played a few times but are in good condition.

A princely combination leaving you the king/queen of your domain for the new year.

If I get enough interest in the desire to assume the heraldry, then tis a Christmas Day close - unlikely to be drawn that day of course.

Option 2: Fairy Tale played but in VGC.

Option 3: Shazamm! played but in VGC.

Option 4: Camelot Legends played but in VGC.

Let me know which one you want when you win.

If there's no interest by Friday night I'll keep adding options I suppose.

At this stage I'm planning on drawing a winner on Tuesday night, January 19.

Sorry for the lateness in posting an item, unfortuneately the majority of my time recently has been taken up either by visiting my mother-in-law in ICU with terminal cancer or looking after my two little girls (3 yrs and 1 yr) so their mother can spend time visiting the hospital. Not the start to 2010 we expected.

Anyway ... on offer we have Queen's Necklace in excellent condition, I think I managed to play it once. As father of two girls, I picked this up hoping to play it with them when they were old enough. Fun little game, but probably 5 yrs away from being played again, so currently collecting dust.

Will close this one off on February 4th.

Good Luck.

ORIGINAL GAME CHAIN

The Math Trade Orphan Society requires your help to find homes for unpopular games. These game can be quite highly rated but are not considered "desirable" when put next to more modern and "exciting" games.

But you can help! Give these games a home! Today! Just sign up below!

URGENT UPDATE We now have Heroscape Marvel: The Conflict Begins desperately needing a good home. This game is unopened and unappreciated. It can't stay with us for long so please open your hearts.

We have another game that has been recently orphaned. Axis & Allies (pictured below) has all its pieces and an intact box. Its has a wonderful nature and will brighten up any loving home it goes to.

We still have a lovely Diplomacy (Pictured below) which comes in a large brightly coloured box. It has almost all of its pieces too (missing 1 flag and 1 ship - but this version came with more than you needed anyway. Desides these pieces (a) do not affect gameplay & (b) are reasonably replaceable)

Here at the M.T.O.S. we have a poilicy of only allowing one wargame to be adopted to each household. This is due to the treatment of these game by their past owners.

Also we have a lovely Hacker which is complete and unpunched. This game has never been played so it is desperate for a new home. Please give generously, give this game the ultimate gift of someone to love and take care of it!

This game will go to the adopter of either of the wargames above. It has such a lovely nature!

Please be big of heart! Sadly, if no one steps up to take care of these games then they will be put down on the morning of Saturday 30th Jan.

Welcome to L'Chateau chaine de generosite. Do you have a booking? Why, very glad to hear it sir. Please come this way and take a seat...

What can I interest you in today...why, you have a voucher, you say? This voucher entitles you to a Main Course and Dessert from our set menu. Please take a look and feel free to choose your dishes, sir.

Main Courses

Our Main Courses today consist of an old favourite, carefully reinvented by young creative talent; A low-fat version of a older, meaty dish; and a tasty (and highly alcoholic) treat.

1) Risk 2210 A.D.

(This is the original big box edition, complete and in good condition)

2) Manifest Destiny

(A retheme and revision of the superb Age of Renaissance. Unplayed.)

3) Bootleggers

(Complete and only played a couple of times)

Dessert

If sir still has room, after that sumptious feast, you may choose one of the following sweeteners. Our menu today consists of a well-liked classic; a lesser-known dish from some master chefs; and something that will sit lightly in the stomach.

1) Roma

(Complete and in great condition)

2) Evergreen

(A Wolfgang Kramer/Michael Kiesling design, complete and in good condition)

3) Drakon (third edition)

(An ex-display copy, with a sticker on the lid to that effect. The box has a split in it, but it's complete and the contents are in excellent condition)

Enjoy your meal, sir. As you may appreciate, we have a quite considerable waiting list so could I please ask you to have finished your meal by sometime on Wednesday 3rd February. Bon appetit!

Card Game Chain

You have two options. The second option gets you a choice of a couple of things. I'll draw a winner some time on Sunday evening.

Option 1:
Star Wars Customizable Card Game

A first anthology box (same size as the one pictured) full of cards (about 1000). The cards are primarily from the base set and the New Hope expansion, plus a few boosters' worth of cards from the Dagobah set. This is not a set of commons and uncommons from eBay - these are the cards I bought when I played this in high school - so there's a normal distribution of rares here, including Obi Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker. This should be a good way to get started for anyone who'd like to try this now-discontinued CCG.

Option 2:
If you select this option, you get to choose one game from group A, and one game from group B. All games here are new and in shrink.

Group A

Mummy Rummy

It's Rummy, but with mummies. Or something. I've not actually played this yet, but I've heard it's quite fun.

Yo Ho Ho!

This is what you've been waiting for! This is a pirate memory game, for ages 4 to 8. And before you ask for something a bit less piratey, allow me to point out that while this is definitely pirate-themed, it also has mermaids in it.

Yes, I think Little Britain is hilarious.

Group B

Monopoly Deal Card Game

Aparently, not as bad as the game on which it's based. Possibly even quite good.

No Thanks!

A good game of trying to foist crap you don't want on someone else.

Pictureka! Card Game

Includes rules for four different games, involving various degrees of luck and skill, thinking and socializing. Makes for a fairly versatile filler.

Moving right along then...

Well, excited as I am, I realise now that my stash of card games is not as great as I thought.

So, let's see how this goes.

Up for offer are two of the following:

1. A copy of Saga.

2. One copy of the perennial favourite, Bang!. It's the Mayfair edition but there's no good shot of the cover in the database.

3. One copy of the politically awkward but otherwise jolly good game, Relationship Tightrope.

4.Yes, it's back on the block! So everyone who entered last time on the possibility of scoring this gem can sign up below for their copy of Mummy Rummy.

5. And finally, for the collectors out there. One 1970 3M copy of Venture.

Assuming I get any takers, I'll draw this one next Monday morning (WA time)

Edit: For transparency, all of these are used to some degree.

1 and 3 have only been played a couple of times so are in very good condition.

2 has seen a bit of play but the cards and box are in good condition. 4 was an op-shop rescue. It's never been played as far as I can tell, but the box is scuffed.

5 was printed in 1970! Box is worn but the cards are all in very good condition.

Bwahahaha! I have taken over the chain devil

Original Chain

How do people feel about OOP AT around here? If there's no interest in the next few days, I'll find something a bit more Euro. Despite my love of these games, I'm surprised at the amount of monies folks will part with when hunting them down on eBay.

In keeping with the fun of the choice, the winner of the next link in the chain can pick one of the following:

1. HeroQuest

Condition:
- Most of the minis have been painted... badly. A good project to strip 'em and start again.
- 2 of the Goblins are without swords and, as is usually the case, the candlesticks are no more. Some of the other minis have had some basic poly-cement repairs.
- The box has its share of wear and tear, but is still pretty good. It's the one with the cardboard insert rather than the plastic one.

If you have not already read them, you should hunt down Neil's session reports with his boys. Excellent stuff!

2. Space Crusade

Condition:
- The Ultramarine squad is missing a couple of weapons -- a bolter and the assault cannon.
- I think the AWOL Gretchin ran off with the above guns. That would leave 13 more to wreak havoc on the Space Hulk.
- The Dreadnought has suffered a flesh wound resulting in him standing on his remaining leg. I still wouldn't want to get cornered by him.

Drawing this in a couple of hours. Last chance!

Card Game Chain

This calls for a particularly subtle blend of psychology and extreme violence.

Alrighty, let's mix this up a bit and see if it's any more enticing. I'm going to add in a choice and an extra card game.

The winner of this lottery will receive their choice of:

Tangled Tales Starter

or

Inn-Fighting

Fans of gamebooks would enjoy the hard to find Tangled Tales machine. It's an electronic device with a set of four buttons. Each deck of cards comes with a data card that slots into the unit. The guts of the game is a branching plot story on the cards -- you go through the deck, choosing your path by entering the key combos for your choice. The unit adds the sound effects and talks to you. It's very cool. Box is a bit worn and it probably needs some new AA batteries. As mentioned in the original post, Inn-Fighting is new in shrink and is a D&D themed custom dice slugfest.

The winner will also receive the following games:
Australian Menagerie

Space Shuffle

Rage

Hanafuda

And I'll send Star Wars Episode I - Customizable Card Game[/b] to Randy to deal with it as he sees fit!

Drawing this in a couple of hours. Last chance!

EDIT: Re-worded to the above, original text below.
----------------------------------------
In the blue corner we have the edumacational duo of:

Australian Menagerie

...and...

Space Shuffle

The former is quite a nicely illustrated rummy-ish game, the latter... I have no idea -- the cards are still wrapped in their cellophane.

And in the red corner (biting the 'eads off whippets) are:

Rage

...and...

Inn-Fighting

Rage has gone and torn a flap during a playground scrap, but Inn-Fighting's parents have turned him out nicely for the event -- shiny shrink wrap. That's not going to last long, though. He has a tendency to put his custom dice in a sock and... well... you'll see.

See also: Games playable with Rage deck (not the CCG) - please add!

The lucky winner can choose to have all 4 of the above, OR I can set fire to a copy of Star Wars Episode I: Customizable Card Game and make the world a better place!

ORIGINAL CHAIN (don't accept any inferior substitutes)

Dungeon Romping Hero Questing Goodness!

Winner will get to choose one of the following:

First we have Dark World which is complete except for the original rulebook. I've printed a copy of the rulebook though. There is also a large gash in the box too. This game has a huge amount of pieces, including the Mace of Chaos which is the coolest (it randomises the players turn order). This is possibly one of the most over produced games ever.

Secondly, we have The New Dungeon! which is just as fun, but without the huge component overhead. This is your low-end dungeon bash game. No need to sort out hundreds of playing pieces. Just shuffle some cards and go.

Lastly, we have Talisman 2nd Ed. This is Games Workshop Ltd. gold from before they became evil. The game is complete except for the original rulebook (again, replaced with a print-out). The box has some wear-n-tear. This is good fun low complexity questing goodness with rpg-like features.

I'll draw the winner 48 hours after the first ticket is given out and 24 hours after the last ticket.

CARD GAME CHAIN

Oh dear. I have a grand total of five card games, none of which I want to part with but I want that Inn Fighting. Of the five, one I really really want to keep, and I won't post Fluxx, because I suspect you'll be bidding to make me burn it.

So that leaves these card games for you to choose from:

Teraforming

Turn the Tide

Three-Dragon Ante

Or you could choose one of these smaller-but-not-card-games:
Mini-The Little Orchard aka Mini Orchard
(yes, it's the mini version in the tin, as pictured)

The Lord of the Rings: Combat Hex Tradeable Miniatures Game Cave Troll
new in box, includes Cave Troll, Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas figures
Note this is not a game on it's own, it needs a base set.

HeroClix X-MEN Danger Room
New in box. It's a starter set, so has enough components to play.
Includes Angel, Beast, Storm, Jean Grey, Cyclops, and Colossus figures.

I'll be away for work for the next week, so won't be able to post until Wednesday. To keep it moving I'll draw in 4 days anyway - Friday evening 26th Feb.

*sigh* Five thumbs but no takers. OK, I'll extend it to Sunday evening and up the ante to any two of the above, OR out of desperation, the following:

$20 Military Simulations voucher
with which you could probably purchase any of these gems:
Poo: The Card Game Man Bites Dog Smart Ass Snorta!

Furthermore, if you're opting for the voucher and send me your address and Milsims game choice (no, it doesn't have to be one of those gems) before it's drawn on Sunday (ie before you know if you're the winner) then I'll order direct from Milsims while their sale is still on, so you get the 20% board game discount (and hence can buy a game normally priced at $25 - I'll cover postage).

Edit: CARD GAME CHAIN

Ok, I offer up Ruse & Bruise, a neat little card game where you are trying to win point cards by the playing of character cards, with each card played having a different effect. Fun interplays abound.

Or...

Tulipmania 1637

An interesting 'bubble-market' economics game by the gaming icon Scott Nicholson!

Since the card game chain is a quick-as-silver lightning-in-a-bottle type affair, let's draw this Wednesday (or change the offer if the above esteemed games are not garnering the attention required).

So, get your hands waving!

Cheers,

Giles.

Original Chain

No it's not a game about New Zealand. It's about choices.

You will have some choice of what to pick if you win.

Option 1
Very Good Condition Metropolys. Very interesting bidding, area control, secret agenda, stuffing up your neighbour with a board that is just fine thank you very much you over excitable pseudo graphic designers

Option 2
Very Good Condition Mozaika. The other language rules were left in a restaurant in Essen but comes with the English rules. Be one of only a few people worldwide who own this game featuring Knizia as a Roman centurion.

It's like Take it Easy on roids and meth. You bid for pieces and try and make patterns to gain VPs. The patterns being colour and/or shape and in lines, squares, diagonal, symmetrical, half and half. You'll get some misspelt tattoos and step into an octagonal ring after playing this a few times. Only Hard Core gamers need apply. I was beaten by my 7 year old so that's why it's going

Option 3
Very Good Condition Hare & Tortoise. Classic, classic game and great to introduce kids to different mechanisms in gaming, as well as the tactics of a game and decision tension.

Let's see how these go and if we have some punters I will draw sometime next Monday.

Card Game Chain

Pick two of these three.

Landlord, an early Friedman Friese game. The carton is a little beaten up around the edges. This is the AbacusSpiele version not the mildly censored RGG one. One of my first games, purchased at the same time as Ra! in about 1998. A certain symmetry with Razzia as won above!

Space Beans Followup to Bohnanza, in excellent condition.

Before I Kill You, Mister Spy... Again in excellent condition, re-issued version of cheap-ass game 'Before I kill you, Mr Bond'

Card Game Chain

As well as Bang! there are two expansions

BANG! Dodge City

and

BANG! A Fistful of Cards

When asking for a ticket you must include the name of a frontier lawman or outlaw from the time of the American West.

I'll probably draw my six shooter to find a winner 24 hours after we have a posse of six participants or High Noon this coming Thursday, which ever comes first.

Come on Randy - are you man enough to put your hand up for this one?

Due to the underwhelming response I guess I better add some options:

Option 2: Coloretto

Option 3: Loot

Option 4: Wrott & Swindlers
