WisconsinTreasure those you love...
Yes, it's that time again. Wipe off those unloved games that have been gathering dust on your shelves and pass them on to someone else who wants to give them a try!Recommend
This event is open to anyone who wants to participate, but please note that this is a no-ship event. We will be meeting up on August 22nd to exchange games traded and you'll either need to be in attendance or have someone drop off and pick up for you at the event. Past events have seen good participation from Milwaukee, Madison, Oshkosh, Kenosha and even Chicago.
What is this GeekList?
This is where you post your offerings for trade. Entries posted after tbe deadline noted below will not be considered for this event.
Please do not delete items from this list once you've added them. - I understand that on a rare occasion you'll list something but then see nothing you would trade it for when everyone else has added their items, or you trade/sell it elsewhere before the submission period ends, or you find some damage that you forgot to mention and people are already submitting want lists. That's fine, but if that happens please just mention that in the discussion thread and send in a want list with no entries for that item. If you delete it then you mess things up for people who create their want lists by hand.
For those of you not familiar with the process, a very useful guide to Math Trades is available here, courtesy of Lindsey Dubb:
We will be using TradeMaximizer 1.3 here with duplicate protection and linear prioritization, so the order of your want list will matter.
All types of games and game accessories are allowed. BGG-specific goodies, such as GeekGold, and non-BGG related items can be added to your game(s) as a sweetener or as a separate item. This includes gift certificates, but NOT cash. If you want to add something as a separate item, that is not a game, please list it as "Outside the Scope of BGG". As moderator, I reserve the right to ask you to remove any entries which I feel are unsuitable, but I can't think of too many things which would fall into that category.

Request Geeklist: http://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/33686
Software Used: TradeMaximizer 1.3 with duplicate protection and linear prioritization.
List Cap: None
Maximum Submissions Per User: Unlimited
Duplicates: The same game may be listed more than once, even by the same person if desired.
Users may not post more geekgold than they currently have. Geekgold arbitrage is allowed in this event.
Gift certificate restrictions:
If you add a gift certificate as an item, please state a specific store or online vendor.
Please make sure that you list accurately the condition of anything you put up for trade. In the last couple of local events, I've received games with missing pieces and that hadn't been noted. We can all make mistakes (I did that once too, about a year ago) but please check your opened games for completeness before listing them and note any missing pieces in the listing - it's easier to find that out before trading the game than dealing with the embarrassment afterward and having to think about how to make it up to the new owner. Thanks.
If you wish to request that an item be added to this math trade, Please enter the request in the request thread listed above.
Note: Use of the request list is optional. You can list games on Math Trade list even if they have not been requested.
Open for posting games: Now to Friday, Aug 15th, 10am
Summary of games posted: Friday, Aug 15th, 11am
I will post my own want lists to this thread at that time, so as to protect the integrity of the event - everyone will be able to see that I have not changed my lists upon seeing everyone elses in an attempt to manipulate the results in my own favour.
Want list submission: Friday, Aug 15th, 11am to Sunday, Aug 17th, 9pm
Want lists posted: Sunday, Aug 17th, shortly after 9pm
Preliminary trade results posted: Sunday, Aug 17th, shortly after the want lists are posted.
Trade results declared final: Monday, Aug 18th, 10am.
Please see the discussion thread for more details about want list errors.
Please note: Sometimes real life intrudes on us unexpectedly. If I'm an hour late posting something, please bear with me. Running one of these can be a fair bit of work.
We will be meeting at the JBGS gaming event on the night of Friday August 22nd.
See here for details.
If you cannot attend in person, you'll need to find someone in your area who can act as your proxy at the event, dropping off your traded games and picking up your acquisitions - but it's worth coming along if you can, meeting your fellow gamers and playing a few games at the event...
If you are prepared to act as a courier for others to the event where exchanges will take place, please let us know in this thread.
Want list submission:
Once the summary of games is posted and the want list submission period begins, you can send your want lists in.
You have two choices about how to do this:
1) Use the On-Line Want List Generator (OLWLG) which JeffyJeff has kindly made available to us for this event. This is my preference as it makes life a lot easier for me, and greatly reduces the chances of error.
There are a few guides to using the OLWLG. Perhaps the best is this one:
2) Want lists can be created by hand and can be sent to me (Anglotiger) in a single GeekMail, and use a subject line of "MATH TRADE WANT LIST".
The below only applies if you choose to NOT use the OLWLG.
The summary that we post will use a combination of the item number and an abbreviated name to label entries in the summary, e.g. if entry 21 is Power Grid the summary entry might look like:
021-PGRID Power Grid
and the want list submitted by the owner of Bootleggers should look like
(Anglotiger) 018-BOOT : 021-PGRID 125-CELTQ
Note: Each want list begins with your username in ( ) followed by your item number/name followed by a colon. The username and colon are required.
If you have multiple items up for trade, you must submit one want list for each item, but you can combine them into a single Geekmail. When the results are announced, item winners should contact their current owners, but owners may feel free to contact the winners if they want.
Please note that you are not obliged to trade anything you put up for offer. If you offer a game, but see nothing that you are willing to accept for it in trade, you can submit a blank want list for it, or not submit one at all. If, however, you do submit a want list for a game, then it is expected that you will honour any trade that the TradeMaximizer comes up with. You will not receive anything you did not list as acceptable for the game(s) you have offered, so it is important to check your want lists when they are posted publicly (see above dates), to correct any errors.
Here is an example of the preferred format for want lists, including the duplicate protection feature (see the link to Lindsey Dubb's excellent guide above).
(Anglotiger) %PGRID : 021-PGRID 033-PGRID 111-PGRID 207-PGRID
(Anglotiger) %VAR : 105-PRICO 176-LOUIS 199-TTRE
(Anglotiger) 018-BOOT : %PGRID %VAR 063-MRJK 125-CELTQ
(Anglotiger) 019-DRAC : %PGRID 063-MRJK 125-CELTQ 102-ARK
In the above example, notice the username at the begining of each want list, this should help reduce errors when the master want list file is created. Also notice the : after the item number.
The first line above is an example of duplicate protection. Suppose that there are 4 copies of Power Grid and I don't want to receive more than 1. If I put all 4 on each want list, I may get more than 1 copy. So, to protect against that, I create a "dummy item" in this case %PGRID. The name doesn't actually matter as long as it begins with a %. %PGRID is now treated as one item on each line of your want list.
If I then put %PGRID on multiple want lists I can only get 1 copy.
You can group any combination of items in a dummy item, they don't all need to be the same game. See the second dummy item (%VAR) above.
Please note that your want lists are case insensitive.
So enter lots of items and have fun!
