We made it through a week of nominations and a week and a half of voting and the results are in... after nearly 600 overall votes... the Five Most Anticipated Train Games of 2010.

Of all the subcategories, the Train Games subcategory received the second lightest voting.

Despite that, there really weren't any surprises (to me) in this category. Also, due to the growing doubt over a 2010 release of 1830 we'll expand this list to six game to include five that have a strong probability of release in 2010.

Nomination: 1830: The Game of Railroads and Robber Barons

Pulling down 12th place in the overall voting. this long out-of-print title commands a princely sum on eBay. Rumors were rampant in 2009 that it would arrive in 2010.

But, with each passing week without any official word from Mayfair the likelihood of a 2010 release diminishes.

A recent interview on BoardGameNews (http://www.boardgamenews.com/index.php/boardgamenews/comment...) with Martin Wallace provided some insight into the 2010 series, but unfortunately no information as to what the 2010 train game would be.

The reprint is getting a slightly modified rule set and a slightly different mix of tiles.

I actually have this one preordered, and I'm glad to see the recent resurgence of the 18xx series with mainstream publishers.
