I did a list a few years back on card driven wargames but in the last few years a ton of new titles featuring Mark Herman's now extremely popular system have emerged. In the last few months I've seen a couple of threads from folks who have played Twilight Struggle and have enjoyed it so much that they're looking for another game using the system. Thus my thinking is that a list showing all the games under one roof would be useful to someone like that.

I have tried to get every game that uses the system on the list thus the use of the word "comprehensive" in the title. I am sure there are going to be a few I've missed either because they're new upcoming games that I haven't heard of or simply I forgot them. Feel free to add a game to the list as long as it is based on Mark Herman's system. See my rules for definition below.

Definition: Ok, before we get to the games let get this out of the way. Yes, we know that other wargames use cards and that some people have a problem with the term card driven wargame. There is some validity to that argument and maybe the term HSG (Herman System Game) or something of that nature might be a better term. However if you want to debate that please make a separate thread where you can debate it to your heart's content and where people who want to discuss it with you I am sure will take part. This list is about games based on the system created by Mark Herman for his game We The People. So no adding Kingmaker or Memoir '44 to the list so you can use it as an excuse to hijack it and turn it into a soapbox for you to complain about the term. So no beating the poor dead horse.

Designer Jason Matthews who created a game you might have heard of called Twilight Struggle. This one concentrates on the events surrounding the year 1989 (naturally) as the iron curtain starts to crumble.

A lot of fun. Like Jason's Twilight Struggle it's a great game for someone looking for a historical simulation game but isn't interested in one covering a military conflict.

Never played but a friend of mine recently traded for a copy so I'll likely get the chance soon. Napoleonic history is not my strong point so it should be fun to play it and learn a bit more of the era.

Showing the system's versatility here. This game was web published and highlights the conflict surrounding the civil rights movement. I've heard a few people say it's surprisingly good.

As the title implies, this is about the 1866 war of Prussia and Italy vs Austria. CDG, one shared deck, now in playtesting, not sure when it is due out. The designer gives it 4/10 on complexity, which based on 2.5 enjoyable games of 1866 I think is about right.

A cdg with area movement and blocks. Grand strategic scale WWII ETO.

"Event Cards: Sturm Europa is a CDG (i.e. Paths of Glory) but plays much more like a traditional wargame than other CDGs. The events introduce political, historical, and technological events in a realistic fashion without scripting or constant "look up" rules. There is a tangible cause-effect relationship to every event and nothing occurs in a seemingly random or ahistorical manner. Players play the cards - the cards don't play the players. Most importantly, the core mechanic of tough gut wrentching decisions which make CDGs so fun is still preserved."

So you have put Price of Freedom on here, but not AoN. Not sure if this totally qualifies, as the card system is a bit different, (basically all generals have a strategy rating of "1" and all cards have an Ops value of 1 in addition to other things).

Chaotic at times, (but so were the times), with beautiful production. One of my favorite CDGs.

A card driven blockgame about the Russo-Polish War of 1920. This one is playable with up to four people and has a very interesting, diceless combat system. Not only the unit strength is hidden (quite normal for block games), but als the orders you give to your army. And no, you don't have to write them down.

Traditional hex wargame, at divisional level for infantry units and smaller for mechanised. Uses cards to determine which corps (also used to describe Soviet army level units) can be activated based upon lines of communication between HQs

Cards can also be played as events and used in combat to provide column shifts on a CRT

There is a VASSAL module available for anyone who is interested.

After some successful playtests I am now hawking this around the games companies...

A hybrid between a CDG and a block game, but I think it fits here. Although it lacks some concepts found in some of the other games, such as activation of different generals, it shares the basic ops or event decision on the cards.

I've really enjoyed my first couple of plays -- I like the fog of war provided by the blocks and think that melds really well with the CDG mechanic. I have some questions about game balance, but I think we really just need to learn how to better play Athens.

Probably the only reason this is not a eurogame is in the designer and the publisher, but cards are certainly used for ops or (and in some cases) events.
