My first game of Arkham Horror - and i think i might be in love.
Big game with 5, then 7, then the full 8 players! First time for half of us, and lots of fun.
I won't say too much as I know Richard has a session report planned and I wouldn't want to steal his thunder. But I have spent the past week looking up the Arkham Horror Wiki, playing Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, planning the optimal order to get the expansions and anything else mythos related I can think of!
Keith (Targaryen), David (Baratheon), Andrew (Stark) and I (Lannister) played.
Went pretty well and I enjoyed it again, although I still think Fantasy Flight should have put a lot more simple cards in the base set to reduce the number of interactions (or more repeat cards so players could get used to the cards). Also seems quite difficult to remove cards from the field (compared to say Magic: The Gathering) which means that the board can get large.
But both problems would probably be solved with some of the battle packs and some deck-building. I'm hoping we can get a semi-regular group going to try that out!
Didn't get time to finish unfortunately, but at the close Stark and Baratheon were in very dominant positions (Baratheon would have won on that last turn if not for a sneaky Targaryen play!)
A fun little game which we played sort of incorrectly. Aidden and I were the heroic humans trying to take down the zombie hoard of Ernest and Gracie.
In the end the two youths outclassed a couple of zombies, the sheriff with his never ending revolver took out one, but it was the religious Father who, with the (dubbed) holy meat cleaver who won the day by taking out the majority of zombies before the night was up.
