I love game systems, or generic sets of components that can be used to play a variety of games. This list is designed to be a meta list of all game systems along with the geeklists listing the games that can be played in that system. Please add games that can be used as systems, preferably along with a geeklist of that system. There are some systems, however, that don't have any geeklists or don't have any games other than the system itself listed, so for those, until there are any geeklists of games in that system, I will just list the game. Also, I am attempting to list external websites with lists of games to play with those components.

The company that produces this seems to be trying to convert it into a game system, by having a game design competition with their components for a fairly sizeable prize ($250 gift certificate to your favorite game store).

I believe Mancala is a game system, given all the possible variations.

Oh-Wah-Ree includes several variations in its rulebook.

Shibumi is the essence of beauty, or elegance in its minimal form. A shibumi object may appear simple but will reward the viewer with hidden depths as it is explored over time. Shibumi is simplicity hiding complexity.

The Shibumi set is not a single game but many games; it is the simplest of game systems. The set includes a square board with 4x4 holes and 48 white, black and red balls (16 each).

Shibumi game system concept by Cameron Browne 2011.

The Mystique Deck is a special deck of 60 cards, with each card depicting three different features (instead of two, like a regular poker deck):

* Colour: Yellow, red, and blue — the 3 primary colours of pigment. There are 20 cards of each colour.
* Suit: Suns, Moons, Arms, and Crowns. Suns and moons are the ‘heaven’ cards. Arms and Crowns are the ‘earth’ cards. There are 15 cards of each suit.
* Number: from 1 to 5. Fives are depicted with an open palm, with the corresponding coloured suit in its palm. There are 12 cards of each number.

Moreover, each card has a unique number at the top, from 1 to 60. This is the ‘card number’.

Some examples of cards are:

* Three of red crowns,
* One of blue suns (also called ace of blue suns),
* Five of yellow arms (also called palm of yellow arms)

There are two different Mystique decks: Mystique Gold and Mystique Silver. Both have the same card distribution; only the backs are different.

The Mystique Deck includes a default game also called Mystique, but the deck has been designed to be used in different future games. You will be able to download new rules from the nestorgames site as they are uploaded.

If you are interested in filler games, or portable boardgames to bring along on travel trips, then the Rainbow Deck is for you! It is basically a 100-games-in-1 cardgame system.

The Rainbow Deck (RD) is a cardgame system that has a total of 162 cards. There are 12 suits with each suit having 13 ranks, and 6 Joker cards. The suits are represented by both colour and number. The ranks are from 0 to 9, J to K. The cards also numbered from 0 to 119, and have letters from A to Z.

The RD can be adapted to play a variety of games, just like a deck of Poker cards. The difference is that the RD has 8 more suits, numbers from 0 to 119 as well as alphabet letters, thus it is most suitable for playing abstract games that require numbers, colours or letters. It can also be used by game designers as components in their own prototype games. Players can also combine the RD with other boardgames with components having colours, numbers or letters to form new games!
