This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
These lists may start empty but as always: add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad™ and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.

Also at the SA, they've had this copy of Monopoly City sitting on the shelf for four months, marked $15. It was 'in shrink' though something had hit it hard on the box bottom. I offered $10 and they sold it to me. (I should have offered less; they might have taken it! Doh!)
Complete and sweet inside, the tray is undamaged and the box lid looks good. But I wouldn't wish the bottom of the box to a monkey on a rock!
Found this at Goodwill for 99 cents. Couldn't leave it behind as it was unpunched and in great shape. I'll try my best to find a good home for it; I'm going to have a baby soon and I don't foresee a lot of wargames hitting the table in the near future.
Almost overlooked this at Savers, but luckily I checked the games once more before I left. Grabbed this, peeked inside and saw a square door which means expansion! Got it home and found Kellar's Keep inside. $3.99 but missing a lot of the parts for the base game. A have another copy, and it looks like I can cobble together a full set of non-crumpled open doorways between the two, plus a full set of rats with their tails! Sadly the candlesticks were massacred, as I feared.
K, so today I hit up 3 thrift stores, the usuals. First I hit up Goodwill in Roseville, I came out of there with a few games, this being the first for 2.99. Only piece missing is the red golf ball but the main base works perfectly fine so I was happy about that.
Found this inside my new copy of Heroquest from Savers. Almost complete: only missing the Cloud of Chaos and a few blocked hallway tiles. Condition is good apart from the new artifact cards being somewhat sloppily cut out and the long staircase being badly folded up (in an attempt to make it look like three dimensional stairs). Also one of the two doors is creased down the middle.
This version...box is pretty trashed, but I was happy to find something at the GW outlet so I got it. $5 for everything, and that included two quite good panniers (bike bags) so no matter what else I found I'm way ahead of the game.
Actually, I checked it, and while the box is trashed the game itself is very nice and even includes the sprues from long ago.
GW outlet (first good things there), $5 for the lot.
Last of the GW Outlet pile...box had opened and the door cards were spilled everywhere...found the rest of the box, with the treasure cards in a baggie...why didn't they bag the door cards? Oh well. First count is 99 door cards, haven't counted the treasures yet. Box is in great shape. Also found a bunch of wooden houses and hotels from a Monopoly anniversary edition, the metal movers from a regular monopoly, a few random dice, and one blue indented die. I think that's it. All for $4.93 at GW outlet. And like I said, the panniers are worth more than that, especially as I really wanted some like this (like ones I used to have) but couldn't justify buying them.
GW outlet partially redeemed in my eyes. Still kinda creepy though.
EDIT: Wow, counted the treasure cards and it's complete except for instructions. Sweet! I dug every single door card out of that filthy bin!
...where I got just one game, 221B Baker Street, the one pictured, it's complete minus the dice but that is easily replaced. Snagged for .99.
I also saw Afrika Korps there as well, it was in great shape but it had no price, I went up to the cash register to ask for the price and the supervisor came up and said we can't just name a price right now, if you want leave your name and number and I will call you tomorrow at 1:00 or so and tell you the price and also keep the game on hold for you, I was like really? So I left my information, now my question is, is it even worth going back to get that game?
Found this at my local Salvos for AU$ 2. The box is very scuffed and has been taped a few times, and a few of the score markers have darkish discolourations, but the game was complete.
My 4-year-old wanted to play this, so I explained it to him, and we started a game. I did not think he "got" it - he kept moving the red agent (red is his favourite colour) and saying things like "this is me", "I'm red and orange, and you're yellow and purple", or "I'll move you, too" when moving yellow or purple. However, at the end of the game, it turned out that his colour was yellow...
Another trip to Half Price Books, some ok deals. Tried GW this time as well, trying to really thrift, but no luck this time. I'll keep trying though. This weeks bounty included the Jambo base game, Expansion 1 and 2, for 20 bucks...
...and Hammer of the Scots, 30 bucks. I have never owned a block wargame, but I hear good things about Columbia's games, so I figured I would give it a shot, especially since I've never actually seen this one at retail, much less a discount store. E
EDIT: This is the Third Edition.
If anyone is in the area of that Half Price Books (Austin, Lamar), I left quite a few games there, they had a good selection. Cyclades, for 24 bucks, but I already own it. The old AH Cosmic Encounter (with the plastic spaceships), I own the FFG reprint so I passed. I considered grabbing Luna again at 15, but I just don't know how much I'd get it on the table, they also had CIA/KGB the card game, but didn't seem worth it at 13. Fjords at 10, again, already had it, but a great game, and Ra the Dice game, but I'd heard mixed things. Alot of SJ games, not much Munchkin, but alot of his card games.
I was highly intrigued by a Kosmos copy of Odin's Ravens, but it was 25 bucks, so I assume its harder to find, I passed on it.
K, now that the site is back up. My last stop for the day was Goodwill in Citrus Heights. My first game I picked up was RollerCoaster Tycoon, I was really happy about that, it was only 1.99 and every piece was in it and in great shape.
The next item was this, Monopoly Disney, I don't usually buy Monopoly just because I hate the game, but this one was too cool. It had some cool pewter pieces and I love Disney so I grabbed it for 1.99 at Goodwill in Citrus Heights.
