Nice little filler based on the "you cut the cake, I'll choose" mechanic. Looks like a children's game, but there's more to it, and it's surprisingly fun
Have had Innovation for awhile and Kat and I love it. So we got the new expansion which arrived last week. We've played a couple of time now and it is has definitely made it more strategic rather than tactical (although the game still swings and changes as you play). Now you can have some cards up your sleeve to bring out at just the right time. Three new core mechanics have been added and the ability to achieve more than one standard age achievement and new score bonuses that help your increase your score to achieve, but reduces the number of icons for dogma actions works well. Great stuff. The team play looks interesting as well, must try that.
Simple card game, like a cross between Uno and Blackjack. Light and good for younger kids. Spot prize from Auckland Boardgames By The Bay (Thanks David!).
A huge surprise awaited me in my email. Didn't realize until I checked (before going onto the Geek). So stoked, will be sure to bring it to Board Games by the Bay - Tauranga
I thought I'd like to try one of this series. As I have a soft spot for Asia, I chose this one. I got it from a dealer on Ebay, new, was pretty reasonable.
Got this through the thrift list, to play with my kids. It's ok, once you get the rules sorted out. Very random. Couldn't really recommend it (or, by association, it's parent game, Killer Bunnies and the Quest for the Magic Carrot).
Anniversary gift from Orthia... oh so glad I've got it at last.
Social game akin to Werewolf and Mafia, but with no-one stuck as the GM, no player elimination, and just enough 'game' to add clues to who could be bad... but not so many that this is multiplayer Mastermind.
The second of the Russian card games I received as review copies. This one is a 2-player area control game, somewhat reminiscent of Lost Cities. Nice little 10 minute duel, but bad card draws can screw you. There's a good review here:
