For plays of this one, I will be using our scoring houserule. We place three games and total the score from them for ONE play. So I guess it will really be THIRTY by the book plays.

The fun play of the game is one thing, but the EXCEPTIONAL artwork makes even a wretchedly played game fun. Pro Tip: play with someone who has game related OCD and always play your card at the end of the parade upside-down and see how many games pass before they realize you are doing it on purpose. (psst, it was at least 10 games for me)

If the duo who own this game don't consent to get it played enough before they move away, I will be forced (FORCED I TELLS YAH) to get my own copy of it. Win.

Just received this game earlier this month and my Wife and I love it. Way deeper then i expected for a small card game. Its a totally different game when its 2 players vs 6 player game.

-Very fun
-strategy is deeper once you play multiple games
-Theme is irrelevant though

Here is an item as an example. It's a repeat from last year since I still haven't snagged a copy.

Looking to refresh my fillers. Played this once, and think it will be a hit with my friends group.

I realize this may be on the shorter end of the playtime spectrum of this list, but with more players, I would say it's around 30 min. Either way, I would play this game every week if I had willing players.

Plays - 18

I appreciate the artwork in Parade for being both beautiful and functionally easy to distinguish the different suits. In fact, I bought the game while on vacation in Toronto strictly because the box art was stunning. As for the game play, I enjoy the well balanced value of numerically high and low cards. Depending on how the game evolves, every card has a chance to cleverly sneak through the parade, mitigating the number of points taken. You can still get screwed over by luck of the draw, but I think skilled play gets rewarded more often than not.

Most of my plays for this game were 2-player, but I'd say it scales well even up to 5. I really enjoy simple "pub games" like this. I'd love to get a group together to strictly play card games like Parade as well as trick taking games.

My dad tends to request this game often, which is why it has so many plays. I don't anticipate its popularity to diminish anytime soon. If anything the cards will wear out well before we grow tired of Parade.

25 x 5 challenge
6 plays in 2016

We bought the latest edition of the game, and my wife and I enjoyed it quite a bit as a 2-player game. However, I found it wasn't different enough to outcompete Jaipur, Lost Cities, and Battle Line which are all in my collection, so I decided to sell the game off.

To my surprise, my wife enjoyed the game even more than I thought and was a little disappointed that I was selling it off. I figured I would just be able to rebuy the game for a cheap price as you can normally find this size Zman game for around $10 or less.

But then I remembered Zman's games like this are always out of print these days. And what do you know, it was out of print and going for an inflated price. I think the dust has settled and neither of us have an urge to rebuy it, but who knows. Maybe someday.

Great little app, martin.

My info:

Played in all years

Parade

Parade has been a staple go-to game for my lunchtime game group for quite some time now. This works well with two to six and has hit the table with regularity. I have clocked nearly 100 plays and will still happily give it a go so you can really say that this one has met the test of time.

Missed a year

7 Wonders

7 Wonders is another go-to game. It used to get a run at lunchtime every now and then but the owner of the game (and the one who was really passionate about it) moved away. I do, however, have a copy at home and have no qualms about dragging it out to play as a light filler or as a 'gateway' game for new gamers just getting into the hobby. Another keeper.

Zombie Dice

Most of my plays of Zombie Dice are logged as Zombie Dice 2: Double Feature, I never play without this expansion as it's only three more cubes which fit nicely into the container, so I was a little surprised to see the base game hitting this list. Then I remembered that my local FLGS has a copy of the base game (only) in its library. I take the Little Fish there every now and then and we'll usually play at least one game of Zombie Dice while we're there so I imagine this explains why this game features on the list.

Anyway, still another fun filler and one that works well with younger players that more than earns its keep.

Nickel and done

Nothing wow

This is a nice alternative to trick taking, turns are simple enough and keeps people engaged. I also have a home made track numbered 1-10 in the case that aids when playing this game. (It makes it easier to see immediately how far in each card indexes into the parade making the turns faster/easier)

[1 baraja] 4x 1-10, Q (Q=0)
[RNB] color 0,2,4,6,8,10 x valor 0-J (J=10)
---
Los jugadores son los organizadores de un desfile que tratan de incorporar más gente y más joven. Sin embargo, la gente que ya participa pierde el interés si los recién llegados visten igual o son más mayores.
Preparación:
* Baraja y reparte 4 [RNB: 5] cartas a cada jugador.
* Coloca 6 cartas bocarriba encima de la mesa formando una fila a la derecha del mazo. Este es el desfile y empieza en la carta más próxima al mazo.
Juego:

Parade fits in the same category as games like Battle Line, Balloon Cup, and Jaipur, but it's my favorite of the bunch by a long shot. What I really like about Parade is the scoring. This makes for a nice back-and-forth over a suit or two similar to how Lost Cities tends to play out. Unlike Lost Cities though, hand management is much stronger in this game; holding cards can help you swing a suit in your favor later. Brilliant design

Today after returning from work I have found note from the post office with some nice and some not so nice but still expected info.

1. Package has arrived (this is nice if you are wandering)
2. I needed to pay some customs fees (expected but still not so nice ).

Anyhow I've rushed to the post office, eager to find out what did Papá Noel secreto prepare for me. (Papa Noel = Spanish for Santa Claus - as my Santa is from Argentina, or so he/she says )

So this is what I have retrieved from the post office after paying USD 30 for custom fees.

Standard looking package with somewhat bigger size than needed for a game

After opening it I have found two surprises

Cry Havoc!!!! If I was asked what would be my most desired game, my reply would be that I can not decide between Cry Havoc & Scythe, so you can imagine how I've felt when I saw this

But that was not all, there was another game hidden in the package . And it was the game that I was recently introduced by great fellas from Cheeky Camel (https://www.facebook.com/CheekyCamelQatar/) during my last duty trip to Doha.

Parade, great little filer game!!!

Thank you Santa both for the presents but also for taunts, much appreciated

First thing first!
Santa, I'm sorry for it taking so long for me to make this post!
Work and my partners "cleaning" (meaning placing a huge pile of stuff which we should take to the second hand store around my computer so I couldn't get to it blush) got in the way cry.

Anyway! Santa sent me not only one but 3 lovely wrapped gifts this year!

But I couldn't wait until Christmas to open them devil.
redtraingreentrainbluetrainredtraingreentrainbluetrainredtraingreentrainbluetrainredtraingreentrainbluetrainredtraingreentrainbluetrainredtraingreentrainbluetrain

Inside were:

Parade
A game I have wanted to get since I bought black spy a couple of years ago. I have no idea if it's a good game but I love the quality of the box, cards and graphics!
Great pick santa!

Tash-Kalar: Arena of Legends – Nethervoid
Tash-kalar is one of my favorite abstracts! And I have been meaning to get this expansion for quite some time, but sadly even thou I love the game it can be hard to get people to play abstract games so I have always ended up passing on it. But that is one reason I love BGG secret santa! I can wish for games I want instead of games my game group want to play laugh

And last

Tiny Epic Kingdoms
I haven't played this but as a lover of small box games I have heard a lot about it, and since I just got tiny epic western from kickstarter I think it's time to try the original version.
T.E.K wasn't on my wishlist but it's a perfect fit for my collection, great pick santa!laugh
