Deep in the human unconscious is a pervasive need for a logical universe that makes sense. But the real universe is always one step beyond logic. - Dune by Frank Herbert

Description Edit | History

A guild for the Gaming Cadre podcast community.

Gaming Cadre is a podcast where two friends (Brad, and Chris) along with members of their local gaming group get together to discuss the hobby we love. We cover a lot of diverse topics including boardgames of all types, miniatures gaming, RPG's, and cardgames; but we also really enjoy the movies, books, and comics that are part of the sci-fi/fantasy culture. We go to gaming conventions as well as tournaments and are interested in the industry that shapes our shared experiences. You never know what might come up: science, history, philosophy, art? Everything is fair game as long as its considerate, respectful, and cool for the whole family. All in an informal and positive setting.

Listeners/friends are encouraged to discuss the gaming hobby and related culture. Please embrace the spirit we think will help grow the hobby, and lead to a lot of fun memories for everyone: Positivity, Consideration, Respect for varying viewpoints, and keep it clean.

More Information Edit | History

I was a teen in the 80's which means my world view was shaped by the coolest, most creative decade ever! ;) From the birth of personal computers and video games to MTV and the boom of role playing games; I've been gaming ever since Dark Tower and the original Basic D&D boxset. I've had my Risk boardgame confiscated by Mom to keep me, Dad, and Sis from waging war in the living room. The D&D collection was banished to keep my obsessed mind from becoming Satan's playground. I was there when Warhammer first hit the shelves, FASA Battletech was king, and Avalon Hill was making history fun!!

All that and we still managed to get out ride our bikes, play football in the street, and pretend we were explorers in the Amazon while wading down neighborhood creeks catching crawdads and turtles.

It was a totally awesome childhood, and life continues to amaze and ignite my imagination! The creative process still gets me excited, and I can't wait to embark on this new adventure. So grab a torch and your sharpest sword because, "here be dragons". - Brad
