Publisher's blurb:
Using the Platonic solids (d4, d6, d8, d12, and d20), the Soulburn system is a streamlined, logical and tight rpg framework that unites the the notion of HP, XP and Sorcery Points into a unified mechanic that is remarkably deep, versatile, and easy to use.
Three types of dice - Trait, Sorcery, and Kit - are roiled against either an opponent or a save/check difficulty die.
The five degrees of severity, d4, d6, d8, d12, and d20, are assigned to Trait, Sorcery, and Kit dice. These five forms can also indicate the power of magic items, material strengths, effectiveness of poisons, and other aspects of the inner realms.
Trait Dice (TD): Distribute the d4, d6, d8, d12, and d20 across Soul, Mind, Might, Poise, and Charm. Starting Soul Points (SP) are Soul die max.
Sorcery Dice (SD): Burn SP at any time to buy one SD to add to any roll. 4 SP buy a d4, 6 SP a d6, etc. Upon defeating a foe, you absorb their stat-block, full-health SP into your SP total.
Kit Dice (KD): Examples: Weapons: dagger: d4, sword: d6, axe: d8, revolver: d12, plasma rifle: d20. Armour: leather: d4, chain: d6, plate: d8, BP vest: d12, EM field generator: d20.
