Players may insist on searching through every scrap of paper looking for clues and other information. This is a list, primarily aimed at the 20th century and later but parts can be adapted to other settings, of 100 different scribbles for their characters to find in such a situation. Scribbles that look important, or to have hidden meaning.
Unless the GameMaster decides otherwise, none of these scribbles are actually important. Most do have meaning, and the meanings are explained, but that doesn't make the scribbles actually important. They are the random jottings people make and in some cases are simply random gibberish. Although players may waste time seeking the, nonexistent, hidden meaning.
