Forbidden Planet at 12th and Broadway has a nice little game section upstairs and a ridiculously good sci-fi & comic book section downstairs.

The Compleat Strategist on 33rd Street near 5th Avenue has a much bigger selection than Forbidden Planet, which has recently downsized their whole game department. Its the best place IMHO to buy games in the city.

Hi Brad,

There are two game stores in New York City:

1) Compleat Strategist
http://www.thecompleatstrategist.com/
11 East 33rd Street

2) Neutral Ground
http://neutralground.com/
122 West 26th Street

Both are rather expensive, but fun to browse. Compleat Strategist is much smaller, but has a decent selection, although focuses more on RPGs and miniatures I think. Neutral Ground is larger, although has a smaller selection of eurogames I think with a focus on collectible cardgames. Neutral Ground has an enormous (by NYC standards) area for playing games (although it's mainly full of CCG players), except for every other Thursday when the Boardgame Meetup is there (http://boardgames.meetup.com/23/).

Have a good trip meeple

I highly recommend Compleat Strategist. They've got a great selection. As of two weeks ago Forbidden Planet had some Settlers boxes and maybe eight other games. Not even worth a visit, unless you're into the other geekery they have.

And, as long as we're talkin', Neutral Ground no longer has a 10% discount on boardgames on Tuesdays, which sucks for those times when you're making a "need a game now don't want to wait to mail order it" purchase.
