I'm going to be in Manhattan this weekend with the wife. Are there any Must See board game stores? I got a lotta sites to see, and a merely well-stocked store won't beat out MOMA. But, if there was some grand Mecca out there, I could make it a point to drop in.

Hi David,

I don't think there are any must-see stores in Manhattan, but there are two that you can check out if you have the time, or the lines are too long at MoMA. I just posted the following information about the two stores in a recent thread (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/110191):

Quote:
There are two game stores in New York City:

1) Compleat Strategist
http://www.thecompleatstrategist.com/
11 East 33rd Street

2) Neutral Ground
http://neutralground.com/
122 West 26th Street

Both are rather expensive, but fun to browse. Compleat Strategist is much smaller, but has a decent selection, although focuses more on RPGs and miniatures I think. Neutral Ground is larger, although has a smaller selection of eurogames I think with a focus on collectible cardgames. Neutral Ground has an enormous (by NYC standards) area for playing games (although it's mainly full of CCG players), except for every other Thursday when the Boardgame Meetup is there (http://boardgames.meetup.com/23/).

Have a good trip meeple

I second this one - I stopped by the last time I was in New York and was really impressed with their selection and service. Highly recommended!

I asked this last summer, and Compleat Strategist was the resounding answer.

Every time I'm at my FLGS...I think about the Compleat Strategist's wall o' Euros...all stacked on their side...

It's so beautiful cry

That's the wall o' Euros on the right there. The aisle on the left is wargames if I remember correctly.

A bit pricy, but that didn't stop me from taking 3 bags full cool
