Hi,

I'm going to Kiel, Germany next week and am wondering if there are any good game shops I could visit while I'm there.

Cheers,

Chris

I'd suggest the toy store Spiele-Max which fills the whole 3rd stock of the shopping center LEIK and Fantasy Reich which also sells RPGs, comics, fantasy literature, CCGs and clothing at Europa Platz.

- for Eurogames, I'd definitely recommend "Spiele Oase", Schülperbaum 24 (not far from the train station),
- for Walmart-feeling (lots of cheap games & toys) I'd go to Toys'R'Us at the so-called Citti-Park
- for additional fantasy (more than at the above mentioned "Fantasyreich"), specialised in miniatures and CCG's there is "Gandalph", Eggerstedtstrasse.

I can't recommend "Fantasy Reich" in Kiel enough. You will find it in "Lange Reihe 22 - 24".
They have lots of Fantasy, War and Euro boardgames.
Also some CCG, Miniatures, Tabletop and lots of books.

A small update, as I visited Kiel just a couple of days ago.

Fantasy Reich's boardgame selection is not that big, seems to be just a side business for the bookshop. However, they had about a dozen used games for very nice prices, and very friendly service.

Gandalph at Sophienblatt 19 (just opposite Karstadt) is another fantasy/RPG/bookshop kinda thing, but carries an impressive selection of boardgames too, though seemed a bit pricey.

And, while you're at it, you might also want to check out the Karstadt department store just opposite Gandalph - like all dept stores in Germany, they have a selection of family/light euros as good or better than some FLGS' in other countries, and may have something nice for sale prices.

Gandalph and Karstadt are just a stone's throw from the Hauptbahnhof and even Fantasy Reich is just a couple of blocks away, so it's very easy to visit all three even if you're just quickly transiting through town (as I was )
