Cool! Hopefully as good as Warhammer Quest: Adventure Card Game. MoM of course has its own genre.

and in the end it will be a bad dominion-monopoly mashup... (irony...)

I have very fond memories of playing MOO1 and MOO2.

Mention MOOIII again and I'll have to come over there and slap you a good one.

YES! Me too! I will join him in beating you over the head with the MOO III box! MOO III was an abomination that should not have been allowed to carry the MOO name.

Bha! With some unofficial patches and tweaks it was a pretty good game ... not as good as MOO2 tho...

MOO III was a decent game at what it was trying to do.
A lot better over the years with fan patches.

But it was so wildly different than MOO I & II (along with being a mess at launch), it did not feel like a sequel like a new C&C game or CoD. Empire Earth III had this feeling also.

No, that's an age old debate. Personally, I liked MOO2 better than MOO1.

Nope. I enjoyed the empire macromanagement in MOO1 over the micromanagement in MOO2.

It was MOOII all the way for me. Building my empire up to the point were I'm building Doomstars maxed out with Stellar Converters and Time Warp Facilitators every turn, ah, good times...

I should see about installing it again on one of my older computers...

If I wanted to play a 4x MOO, I would be getting MOO1/MOO2 on GoG, wait for the MOO remake on Steam, or wait for the fan-made Java MOO

Otherwise, if they can pull of this card game in the same vein as Blood Bowl Team Manager, I'm game.

You can go to GOG.com and buy MOO1/2 bundle for 4.99. They use a DOS emulator to make it work on newer systems.

Stellar Converters are cool, but I found that for sheer fleet-destroying power, massive amounts of Plasma Cannons were really hard to beat...

Or copy the cd entirely to a folder on your pc. Open task manager, kill explorer, select new task, browse to the folder and click the executable, enjoy.

Now if someone can tell me how to play multiplayer over Ethernet i would be ecstatic.

Yup, I too was a fan of MIRV emissions guidence cruisers... computer never did put enough point deffence on there ships...

Playing against human players that over relied of that I found massive point deffence with structual anyalyer heavy graviton beams was the counter.

The most frustrating part of MOO III was that I was on the developer forums when they were making it and showing all this stuff off. They kept talking about all this cool stuff they were doing which had nothing to do with the MOO universe. I finally asked what exactly was left of MOO. To which their response was that they were capturing the spirit of MOO. The game needless to say was an unrecognizable mess. So they did it their way and it flopped big time.

I like new features like anyone else, but if your just want to make your own entirely new game, don't slap the MOO name on it... which is what I fear this board game is.
