A friend who will travel to Boston in a few hours, asked me if he could bring back a game for me, for my upcoming birthday. Well, he doesn't have to ask me twice!

Now my interest mainly goes to ASLSK or AVL. I really don't have a clue which games can be found in general gamestores like ToysR'us, and if there are specialized wargameshops in Boston.

Help and hints are appreciated!

(Obviously this can be found somewhere on BGG, but searching for 'Boston' and 'store' gave an endless list of results...)

The Compleat Strategist is a game store in Boston that should have some wargames, although more eurogames I think, but it's probably worth having your friend check out.

Another possibility is to check out the "boston" tag for previous threads discussing Boston:

I think your best bet will be the following.

The Compleat Strategist in Boston, MA (http://www.thecompleatstrategist.com/)

Hobby Bunker in Malden, MA (www.hobbybunker.com)

Hobby Bunker is impressive, if a bit out of the way (IIRC).

Thanks guys!

The Compleat Strategist looks fine, even though AVL/ASLSK aren't listed (maybe they have some forgotten copies under the shelves hehehe).

Try Games People Play... no web presence, but when I was last in the store that had what you were looking for: MMP, GMT titles other wargames, ASL, etc. Good selection of 18XX games and a bunch of rarities too.

Compleat strategist is the place to go for wargames. Although they have been out of the ASLSKs for months now.

My friend is back from Boston, and he visited both GamesPeoplePlay and TheCompleatStrategist. In the latter he found A Victory Lost, and yesterday I got it for my birthday

Cheers all!
