A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day.

Hello,

in less than 2 weeks i will be traveling to Australia, i will be spending some time in Sydney, Darwin and Brisband. Apart from the sites i would like to visit some great "Friendly litte (or big) Gamestores" any recommendations where to go?

Thanks in advance

Re: Where to find great FLGS in Australia (Sydney or Darwin
In Sydney,

Games Paradise has a wide selection (http://www.gamesparadise.com.au/ - website run separately from the store in Pitt St)

Tin Soldier has a more wargamey stuff but a decent amount of boardgames (http://www.tinsoldier.com/)

If you're out in Eastwood my friends frequent Battlecraft (http://www.battlecraft.com.au/) where people (lots of kids) are usually playing wargames or CCGs

Very good selection at Games Paradise in the city, however a word of caution: The prices on their website are for mail-order only (this is not indicated, the website gives the impression of being a catalog of the goods that you can also buy at the store.) If you go into their store the prices are sometimes $10 extra... and they do not honor the prices advertised on their website.

In Brisbane you can't do better than Presents of Mind at Paddington. They're by far the friendliest store in town. Their address is listed here:

http://www.boardgamenews.com/index.php/wiki/Brisbane/

There is also David Astley's web store at:

http://www.alternativegames.com.au/

which is based in Brisbane. And of course, if possible you should visit us at Critical Mass:

There are lots of gaming opportunities in Brisbane! I wouldn't expect too many in Darwin, it's a much smaller place.
