I'm creating this for the master thread https://boardgamegeek.com/article/2090808#2090808

I read through all of those threads in the Maine section and pulled out every suggested store for this list.

Feel free to post updates for any info or point out stores that I missed.

---------

http://diversionsgames.com/south-portland/
*They have a wide collection of Euro games, although priced a bit higher than Amazon
*They have game nights/events several nights a week
*They also have a store in Portsmouth, NH

Crossroad Games
15 Fort Hill Rd, Standish, ME 04084
http://www.crossroadgames.com/
*Have never been, but it seems to be the most popular store in the state; most people post about in the other threads asking about Maine stores

Dirigo Hobbies

http://www.dirigohobbies.com/
*Other posters have indicated this is mostly a MTG store

Spell Bound
67 Concourse E, Waterville, ME 04901
http://spellbnd.com/
*Someone posted that they have very good pricing, closer to online retailers than other stores

www.gamecitadel.com/
*Formerly called Games Unlimited

All About Games

www.allaboutgamesmaine.com/

Located in: Bangor, Brunswick, Lewiston, Portland, Sanford, Scarborough, Mill Creek (South Portland), North Windham, Waterville

*Not really a "game store", but does sell some board games along with movies, music, books, video games, etc.

Weekend Anime and Games in Westbrook has a decent selection of games, pricing seems to be around MSRP.

The Game Cafe' in Augusta has mostly ccg type stuff but also wargaming.

Gamebox in Topsham has a smaller collection of games but the owner is friendly and will order things from the distributor of needed.

I went to Crossroad Games once when I visited Old Orchard Beach and I really liked it. There was a place near OOB called The Complex (I think) and they were friendly too.

Finally, there was a store in downtown OOB that I believe was called Board Silly. I thought it was fun place to visit, but I also think the owners retired and it's closed now

Can anyone comment on what they have for war-games? I live in Maine and this list is news to me! Thanks!

Yep, that's the one. I didn't know which town it was in, just that I kind of remember it being about 10-15 minutes from OOB. I liked visiting it.

I got in everyone's hostile little face. Yes, these are wooden cubes from boardgaming. Yes, I'm comfortable with that. I am enlightened.

But their board game selection is incredibly limited. It's a fine shop but lots of comics.

I agree. On a related note, I also remember especially liking Crossroads. The selection when I went was good and the owner was great to talk with.
