Anyone have a suggestion for a good FLGS in Las Vegas. I'm headed down there for a 3 day weekend this weekend and I'm not much of a casino fan and would like a store that I could drop in for a pick-up game or two. I'm not really looking for a store that's CCG centered, as I've broken away from the paper crack a few years ago. Any suggestions, with an address would be greatly appreciated.

I'm planning on going to ALL the strip clubs I can while the wife is feeding her penny slot addiction. I'm just not much of a casino gambler because I know all the games are tilted towards the house taking your money.

The wife called me a bit ago with the weekend forecast, and apparently it's supposed to be around 109 this weekend.

Edit: TY. I didn't make it.

I'm an avatar thief.

Eloquently put for someone with an LDS microbadge. If this is what those two guys who keep knocking on my door are preaching, then get them back here!

Aren't those guys polygamists? What a better place to get new recruits?
Although being married to a bunch of strippers sounds very expensive.

And judging by how many of Springer's guests(?) have been strippers, lots o' drama.

Only if you have to pay for lap dances at home.

But, seriously, I haven't always been LDS and old habits die hard.

So looks like this might be worth a try:

Dark Tower Comics 4750 W. Sahara Ave.,Las Vegas, NV

Let us know if that pans out....

P.S. Thanks, Bas!

Strip Clubs?

LOL

I didn't make it to any strip clubs, but I did make it to Horsehead. Took me a while to find it as I don't know Vegas at all and I went the wrong way down Flamingo. For those that are interested and don't know Vegas, Horsehead Hobbies is located in a strip mall on the southwest corner of Buffalo and Flamingo. To get to Buffalo, just hop on Flamingo off I15 and head west. All in all, I'd say it was a nice, smallish store. Seemed to be a little bit more CCG and maybe clix oriented than anything else, but I could be wrong...like I said, I only spent about 20 minutes in there on Saturday afternoon. Their boardgame selection looked to be fairly standard fare and only about a 4'-5' section of the wall. I remember a copy of Puerto Rico, Settlers, Attack of the Killer Bunnies and it's many expansions just to name a few. The shop was very clean and the guy running it at the time seemed friendly and helpful, I really wish I would have had the time to sit down and either play a game or just BS with the other patrons, there were 5 others in there iirc, but I had to go listen to some guy's time share sales pitch...that's right, my wife signed us up for the Tahiti Village crap.

It wasn't awful, we got 3 free nights in the LV Hilton, tickets to a comedy show, a free buffet dinner at one of the older casinos, my wife got $300 to play on some "promotional" slots, and from what I heard on the bus trip back to the Hilton, some people played the game better than us and got more. I heard several folks say they got a $100 gas card or $200 towards airfare and another couple said they got $500 in free slot play and 4 buffet dinners. I'm just not a huge fan of Vegas, the wife's grandparents retired to Boulder City and are buried there, so she booked us the trip thinking we were headed to the LV or her childhood. IT was kind of a shock to her to find out that shrimp cocktails were no longer 99 cents and that for some odd reason, folks along the strip think it's OK to hand out porn to any strangers walking by.shake You should have seen her the first time someone tried to hand her one of those little nekkid girly cards, I thought she was gonna go Jackie Chan on the dude for a sec. Ah, well...it was an interesting way to waste a weekend and I'm pretty sure I'll never have to endure the LV strip again. Sorry I didn't make it to all the stores you all suggested, but, even just exploring for one left the wife going a bit crazy. Next time I'll mapquest them all and know where they are before I go looking.

We've found it best to avoid the strip, and typically now stay downtown, which is more compact and friendlier.

Thanks for the hobby shop report!
