I haven't been there in two years (but hopefully again later this summer ), but there was a game shop around Rue de Lépante if I remember correctly. The game shop itself is so-so, but there was also a toy shop nearby which had quite an OK selection, so still worth a visit. The game shop wasn't open all days of the week, but unfortunately I can't remember which days.

The easiest way to get there (again, if I remember correctly) is to walk up the Avenue Jean Médecin (with the sea at your back) and turn a right on Avenue Notre Dame. The toy shop is on the left hand side after a while and the game shop on the right hand side just after it.

Enjoy your trip, Nice is a great place!

Completely right! The store is named "Contesso" and is still there (address)
You will also find l'Entre-jeu nearby (here and here)

Hope that helps and it's not too late!
Enjoy your stay in Nice (my birth city)!

Contesso is now part of "la grande récré" or something like that.
L'entrejeu is still OK.

That's a Palm Pilot on the left, and a pink iPod mini on the right. Yes, I've been doing BGTG that long!

No answer? I'll be there next week. I doubt I'll have the opportunity to stop by a game shop (if there even is one), but it never hurts to know what's out there.

Edit: Answered my own question with a websearch.

This week I'm heading towards Guillestre to camp, a little town 150 km? from Nice. Maybe I will visit Nice and find out if the boardgame stores are still there... or not ;).

---edit: oh I see it's still some 200 km(3 hours)... probably won't visit then :(..

Briancon is more nearby... but only 10.000 habitants. Don't think there's a gameshop?

We checked JSST out a week later before heading to the airport. I think it is actually the best games shop I have ever been to so far. Lots of games, excellent selection and the rental library and space to play games would make it a regular haunt if I lived there.

Also the owner was totally into her games and it was a pleasure looking to see what we could find there. We ended up having to cary games onto the plane

I think JSST games in Nice does. www.jsstjeux.fr should let you know - I can't check at work they are blocked.

Anywhere specific in France? It is rather a large place...
