Anyone mind if we extend the deadline a few hours?
Joe contacted me and said he couldn't get his wants in by the deadline, but could get them in by 6pm...

I won't be online at that time, so I'll officially extend it till I get back home (8pm possibly).

I don't think we'll need the full time I alloted to running Genetitrade anyway... it's relatively fast and 24 hours seems to be enough.

Hopefully it also means Walter will also be able to get his in by then as well Walter's are in (he's on the road) (each has 8 items each, and so each one can increase the number of overall trades).

Another test run after Amy's wants came in had 117 trades found so it looks like another new record for a UG math trade!

WOOHOO! This is awesome! I can't wait to see the final results.

I did try to install genetitrade, but I couldn't figure out how to run it once it was installed. I'm too tired to put too much effort into it, so I won't be participating in that part this time.

quick update... Joe did send in his wants manually... but not in the proper format I'm going to give him a little more time as I'm not home yet anyway to merge the lists (had to go to a wake and was there longer than expected).

Awesome! I'm combining the lists now, will make a quick run to make sure there are no errors, and post a link to them in a few minutes!

The combined want lists for input to Genetitrade
Ok folks, the wants, they are all in! They are at:

http://activityclub.org/bgg/22435-officialwants.txt

For those playing at home save it to your local computer and that's the input file to Genetitrade. Your output file should, assuming I have the latest Genetitrade myself, should have the following line in the header:

# Input checksum: ed6c7840a704f2c7e9a5f0d19b6d49d4

Genetitrade pruned down the list to 197 items (that means the other 129 are untradable... either because they had empty want lists, everything they wanted had empty want lists, were unwanted themselves, or just couldn't possibly complete a chain.

0:09:56: Best fitness in generation 306 is 139
0:13:07: Best fitness in generation 381 is 141

That means 139 141 items trading! And that was only after 10 13 minutes!

And in the current results on mine it looks like only 3 folks out of 32 have at least one trade, and one of those 3 had to submit all empty want lists because they can't make UG.

Below is the list of the most wanted (based on how want lists they were on) in decreasing order. The 2nd number after the slash (/) is how long that item's want list itself was... so /0 means a empty want lists was submitted (and obviously won't trade).

After that is the list of games that appeared on no want lists (unwanted), and hence also won't trade

Hmm... I can't understand why nobody wants any of the crap I'm trying to get rid of.

Once results are in (on Saturday), I'll probably list some stuff (including the crap nobody wanted) for sale on the UG list.

I know that a few people had stuff bundled together, and I was interested in part of the lot, but not all of it. Also, there are a few things in the "unwanted" section that I *thought* I'd included in my lists, but apparently did not.

For those items, when I list them on UG I'll put a star or something on them, and GM the individuals in who had things I was interested in.

(For example, I'm interested in Dragonriders, which Terry Egan had up... I'd be willing to trade any of the things on my unwanted list for it, or possibly some of the things that end up not in a trade).

Once results are in (on Saturday), I'll probably list some stuff (including the crap nobody wanted) for sale on the UG list.
Same here... though I'm also going to ask for trade offers on them... I'd prefer to trade them than outright sell them, but it is probably time I start cleaning out the closet (especially the stuff that will probably never trade )

I know that a few people had stuff bundled together, and I was interested in part of the lot, but not all of it.
In this case I still put it on some want lists... as it happened to me in this one and I figure I can always trade the item I already own, but keep the other item that I want.

Also, there are a few things in the "unwanted" section that I *thought* I'd included in my lists, but apparently did not.
Let me know which ones they are and I'll investigate just in case there is a problem anywhere.

145 trades found so far... anyone else playing at home?
10:02:41: Best fitness in generation 1144 is 145

Is anyone else playing at home? Earlier back someone said they had a fast machine they were hoping to try out. The more folks running Genetitrade, the better chance we have of squeezing out as many trades as possible...

I'm still stuck at 141.
With the wedding tomorrow, I don't have a lot of time to play at home this time. Sorry!

I already investigated the things I thought I'd included in the confirmations I got, and I just didn't click the buttons. Not a big deal.

It would be great if we hit 150 in trades, since we had 75 last time. I think doubling it (or even coming close, which it looks like we'll do), is fantastic for a group this size.

Well at what appears to be the winning run so far with 145 trades found, that's 73.6% (145/197) of the tradable items! That's a pretty high percentage!

If that 145 result set does become the winner (keep in mind someone else could have a 145 as well that wins the tie breaker) then everyone but 3 folks trade at least one game... and 1 of those 3 had to submit empty want lists because they couldn't make UGXIII, another 1 of the 3 had only 1 item, and only put 1 item on their want list and only only appeared on 1 want list itself. And the last of the 3 had only 2 items and both were unwanted

I also think it's safe to say the winner for most trades will most likely be Terry with over 20 trades!

Yeah, I think it was me who said he had a machine of decent speed.

As soon as I got the email go-ahead, I figured out how to configure and start up GenetiTrade fairly easily. I let it run all night from about 7:30 onward, and it's still chugging away at home, barring something very untoward happening.

Now, this may be wishful thinking, and I'll definitely have to check it once I get home, but I think I was up past 145 at last count -- maybe 146 or 148.

I'll verify and post again once I get home tonight (although this will be fairly late, I think). If I'm first on the leaderboard for number of chains, I'll gladly let it run until some prior agreed-upon stopping point, when the law of diminishing returns rears its ugly head? Or would you like it to run right up until 10PM 8/10?

Awesome! I'm still stuck at 145 (and my other one at 143).

The number of chains is only a tie breaker... if there is more than one set of results that have found the same most results.

Let it keep running as long as you can... but please geekmail me your results file no later than 10am tomorrow (and for anyone else who may be playing at home with at least 145 trades found, and so far has been keeping quiet ).

Nope, definitely wishful thinking. I get 145 too -- what can I say, it's my first Math Trade and my first convention of any sort, period

Just curious ... did anyone actually select any of the games lots I put up because there were multiple games, or were the bundles/sweeteners totally irrelevant, with inclusion based pretty much just on the first game listed? Or worse? Sounds from some of the comments above it may have even hurt, with people not selecting a game they wanted because it came with additional games they didn't want. Sounds strange, but it definitely played out that way, at least in some cases. For example, Dan put Pony Express in the trade pile all by it's lonesome, and that got five wants. I put Pony Express, Turf Horse Racing and Kuhhandel together and only got four wants. No difference in condition in the two base games, so I'm not sure what else might account for less being more, other than someone out there desperately didn't want to clutter their shelves with two additional games! Guess I can understand that ... I was definitely out to do some closet cleaning!

Well, if nothing else, I managed to amuse myself trying to find themes to tie the game lots together

I actually noticed that last time, too, Terry: I don't remember what game it was I had up that someone else had up, but I had a sweetener of a couple of dice bags, and that got fewer "hits" than the other person's.

I think it comes down to whichever number comes up first or something weird like that. I don't remember, though: did the online trade submission thingy list whose game was whose? I don't think it listed the sweeteners.

To answer your question for myself, there were a few "sets" that I listed for a few of the games, but not all of the games in the lot.

And I did enjoy your themes, so it wasn't all wasted.

Huh... I just thought of something. With this "new" thumbs' up system, I could have marked the entries on the geek list that I was interested in, as they were added, then not had to second-guess myself later, when I was going through the list all at one time.

Interesting concept... Jeff- is there anyway to capture that into your submission thingy? (I believe it was you that created that program).

By the way, Tami ... Remember how you cornered the market on Oasis last year. Depending on whether anyone else had an interest in a Tanga special, I think I have a chance to equal your effort with Hoity Toity

I did... and I put it on the lists for some of my higher valued games than I would have otherwise.

I get the geeklist data via the BGG XML API... and that doesn't give the info about who thumbed what geeklist items... I can't even get the associated image id for each geeklist item

I'm not sure it was clear to most, but I was resyncing the geeklist into the online want list generator/editor at least daily so folks (and myself) could "add" items, even leaving what games I'd trade for them blank until later in the editing step.

Assuming my run is the winning result set you only receive 2 copies of Hoity Toity... and 2 copies of Aquaduct... not bad given in this trade set you have almost 30 trades!
