I'm going to Atlanta next month, and I would like to visit a good Boardgames store. Can anyone help me?
Thanks!

Michael Barnes' place used to be there. Not sure of the current status.

I believe Robert Solow (BGG username: rsolow) has a game store in Atlanta. I've never been there but I've dealt with him a couple of times online and have never been disappointed. Very happy customer here! He's a great guy to deal with and if I were in Atlanta, I'd swing by his store and give him some business.

You should contact him for more info on his store. I'm sure he'll be more than willing to help you w/the details.

Thats my recommendation for Atlanta. Hope you have a safe trip!

I think Factory Games is a web store only now. Here's the URL for it: http://www.atlantagamefactory.com/ and it doesn't list a physical address. A pity, if I ever went to Atlanta, he'd be one of the sights I'd want to see!

OK, this just to hand. The URL I posted hasn't been updated in a while as Michael is working on a new site. He still does mailorder (and I guess emailorder as well?) at 30% off retail, and provides face to face delivery in the Atlanta area! That's pretty handy for someone from out of town.

I was in Atlanta earlier this year looking for game stores. The only ones that I found were well out into the Northern Suburbs and nothing with easy public transport access.

Mind you this appears to be the same with many US cities. Boston appears to have the best access with it's two Complete Strategist outlets, near to downtown and in Cambridge.

San Diego and LA area have a number of good stores (Games Empire and Gameology), but again you really need a car.

Now that Wizards of the Coast have shut there are hardly any US malls with gaming stores, although I do seem to remember a decent chain in the Phoenix area and Mall of America in Minniapolis has Games with James.

Games Workshop - Mall of Georgia: http://maps.games-workshop.com/storefinder/viewstore.aspx?sl...

The War Room: http://www.thewarroom.com/

Those are the only three I know of off the top of my head.

However, the folks that host "Atlanta Game Fest & Games Day Atlanta" may be able to assist you: http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/AtlantaGameFest/?yguid=1...

But don't be fooled by the radio, the TV, or the magazines. They'll show you photographs of how your life should be but they're just someone else's fantasies.

Ok, there is only one game store worth anything in Atlanta. There was a time when there was many. I have lived here for 10 years and it was not until Sunday that I found Dr. NOs in the Northwest Atlanta area. I am sure that it is not a great as many stores in other cities but it is the best I have seen in Atlanta. The do not have a good Wargame section but they had a lot of new Eurogame titles as well as indy published games. I like when I go to a store and find game that I have never heard of and that is what happened to me there. The sad news is it is 45 minutes from my house on a day with no trafic.

I'll fly in to Atlanta on Sunday afternoon, and will fly back on Wednesday, three days for working... Maybe I could get one afternoon away?
In case you didn't notice yet, but the USD rates to the EUR in a way that it already could be cheaper to buy a Eurogame in US and bring it home... If I could manage to squeeze them in my luggage.

Well, I will see about this. Maybe I'll just place an international order.

Hi Robert,

Do you have a street address for CLS games? Your site only has a phone #.
