Good day fellow BGGers,
Looking to see how many people on BGG are in or around the Lincoln, NE area and would be willing to potentially begin a semi-regular meet-up OTHER THAN going to the only available meet-ups offered at HobbyTown, etc? I think it would be fun to start a monthly meet-up where fellow Lincolnites can come visit a local coffee shop, bar, or other local public hang-out areas and get down on some cardboard and plastic!!! I'm think places such as Cultiva, The Coffee Shop, The Mill, Duffy's, 1867, Other Room (ps: love this bar!), etc.

Not only will this give Lincoln residents an opportunity to share their love of board games with others BUT, it will also give everyone an opportunity to visit new location/businesses around town!

Let me know if this is something you would be interested in,
Feel free to PM me... Until next time!

It's not fair to only call people in Lincoln Big Red BGGers. I've never lived in Nebraska but I am definately one. Even have 93-97 seasons sitting on my shelf. angry

Good luck with finding your group. meeple

Touche Jonathan...
Apologies if I have offended anyone . Perhaps a new group name is in order if a group actually materializes from this post. That will be the first order of business during our first potential meet-up . Second order of business... get a drink. Third... play some games!!!

PS - I had to restrain myself from commenting on Nebraska Football (GBR!).

Some recommended places to check out:

Lincoln BGGers

https://www.facebook.com/GreatPlainsGamingProject/

https://www.facebook.com/groups/900058380030940/

https://www.facebook.com/groups/redditlincolnboardgaming/

Lots of crossover between those groups, but good resources all around.

Count me in!

I sometimes make it to the HobbyTown South group, but would love to get more gaming in as well.

I play a wide variety of games (see my collection for an idea).

Cheers,
Kris

A little bit delayed but I wanted to mention our group that meets every Wednesday at 6:30 at Cottonwood Cafe. Will linked the Facebook page, we also have a Discord channel here that we use to plan less regular events. I know we've had some people say that Wednesdays don't work great for them, so if anyone is interested in trying something on another day we've got a number of people who would likely be interested.

So Cottonwood is closed, we've been checking out some other sites and are currently meeting at The Mill Coffee @ Telegraph. Similar time, people are generally there 6-10. They seemed pretty open to us having regular meetings there, so I think that will be our new go to.

Hi Fellows:
I while ago I wrote in another thread about me moving to Lincoln in February. Well, I'm here already willing to re-start the hobby and meet new people. My only problem is I don't have a car yet (only 10 days here) so I've a limited movement capability. but if the place is at walking distance count me in!!!

See you soon, hopefully.

PS: Yes, I have to change my flag

Welcome to Lincoln! What brings you here?

What do you like to play?

And what part of town are you in? The public transportation here is pretty good, and the city is pretty walkable.

Kris

Hi Andres, welcome to Lincoln! Depending on where you're located in town, walking distance can vary. We've got a group that meets 6pm each Wednesday at The Mill (330 S 21st Street), it's about a 15/20 minutes walk from main campus. It started up as part of the /r/Lincoln Reddit Discord server, if you'd like to stop in there we're generally moderately active! You can join the server with this link, I'm MichaelD over there.
