The board gaming podcast that I have listened to the most is "Munchkin Land" from the people at the Major Spoilers' website. Munchkin was also my gateway game into modern board games, despite not really having anybody to play it with me. As a matter of fact, lacking people to play Munchkin with is what lead me to search for games that I could play solo. That lead me to the first two solo games in my collection, Zombicide (season 1) and Castle Panic. The rest is history. cool

Bowling Solitaire, followed by Limes, primarily because those are my two tuck in for business travel games that I'll play a lot in hotel rooms.

What was your "Gateway" game to modern boardgames?

Ogre, way back in 1977 because there was an ad in Analog and $2.95 was affordable for me as a kid.


I wish game magazines were still that cheap! I would have several subscriptions!
