Hi,
Could you suggest me some game (actual game) for my kid 8 years old.
I have:
Mice and mystics
Dale of merchants
Stone Age
Forbidden Island

so the kid is used to playing.

Thanks and sorry for my English!

From the title alone I had been thinking Gold am Orinoko as one I even enjoy myself. From your list, I wonder if it might be too late.

(also, it perhaps it works better with more than just 2 players)

With 8 years old, a world of boardgames is open to you, so that is very general. Do you want more of the same type of games or is that just for complexity Reference?

Obviously, a lot of Spiel des Jahres Winners might be interesting, with Azul being the most recent. If he can play Stone Age and Dale of Merchants, I am not even sure if there are a lot of games that you can't play with him. I'd rather check the overall best games that you two find interesting and check if it's suitable for his age.

That being said, to have something different than the games you already have, an Abstract like Azul or Santorini and a dice game like King of Tokyo+Power Up Expansion would be my next choices.

My 6 year old enjoys both:

The AMAZEing Labyrinth
Splendor

They both play well with 2 players.

Deck Builders really shine in 2p settings. I think Gameplay Wise the classic "Dominion" is still one of the best, you might consider Star Realms/Hero Realms/Shards of Infinity. If you want something with a board, Clank!, Trains, Super Motherload and Thunderstone are nice.

I always see children at this age like Dixit
Its funny, creativity flows and its fast to learn and play.
The cards are beautiful and the expansions are great too.
My favorite game by the way.
But it requires at least 5 people to be fun (4 is OK, but only sometimes).

Potion Explosion is a fine choice for that age range. My 5yo daughter understands the general concepts of that one, so I'd imagine that at 8 they'd be able to not only get the concepts but be competitive as well.

Photosynthesis is another good one from Blue Orange that would be right in that sweet spot as well.

Hope you find something awesome!

My 7 year old son had this for Christmas and we were surprised how much we all enjoyed it. Being allowed to cheat was great fun and it’s over SO much faster than regular Monopoly (no Utilities, no Income Tax, Railways are “warp” spaces and you can’t buy them, Free Parking has a purpose).

Oddly enjoyable!
