What rules has your group later learned you were getting wrong?

Heres ours:
1)we misunderstood the 'don't repeat a keyword' to include 'move' so actions were ending movement.

Once the haunt starts, you reset turn order the player to the left of the traitor goes first, then all the way around before the traitor goes.

When you are instructed to draw the top card, you ignore the region and just draw the top card.

Monsters roll to see how far they move each turn instead of fixed movement.

You cannot attack a monster with a trait they don’t have BUT the traitor doesn’t have to reveal that until the Hero’s waste an attack trying it.

Spoiler (click to reveal)
The Deed
has a special ability on it that can be hugely important once the haunt starts.

“Bury” means put the card/tile on the bottom of the deck.

Roll and perform all rerolls for attack before defender rolls.

Forgetting to read the flavor text, Things we know, and setup to everyone.

Forgetting to ask the other side to read their rule boxed when invoked.

Put the card in the tomb means place the card under the insert in the box so that you can get it again when the game asks for it to be added back in, not to destroy it or put in the box some place random to come out next game.

Some cards have check boxes on them that are only marked if another card says to mark them (e.g. card 10 says to mark a checkbox on card 20). If the card doesn't include instructions to mark a checkbox, then don't assume that you should mark it anyway if the card is resolved.
