We played this haunt yesterday, and argued a bit about movement rules of the "ancestor".

Spoiler (click to reveal)
They are a monster, which means that by default, they act as obstacles to other players, and heroes are obstacles to them.

The rules of the haunt, however, explicitly mention that the ancestor can pass through walls, and it does not act as an obstacle for heroes (since it's essentially a ghost).

Do heroes and other obstacles still affect the movement of the ancestor?

On one hand, the rules don't say that they don't, so it seems clear that they still slow it down. On the other hand, this would be completely illogical (since it's a ghost).

I'm going to say all other rules apply except for the ones this Haunt alters.

Unless the haunt specifies, the Monsters follow all the rules on the Monster card (Including heroes acting as Obstacles.)
