Gamescape at 333 Divisadero Street sounds like what you're looking for.

Hi Nicolas,

My girlfriend and I were in San Francisco last week and took the opportunity to go to Gamescape. It's a great store, with very friendly and helpful staff, and plenty of stock. (They also do RPG stuff if that's of interest to you.)

Cheers,

Matt

Awesome, I was in doubt about this store which sound a little bit "generalist". I will go and take a look.

Merci

If you don't have a car, Endgame in Oakland may be easier to get to from SF:
- Take BART (The subway system) from SF to Oakland on the Richmond or Concord lines.
- Exit at the 12th ST. Sation in Oakland.
- It is about a 2 block walk 10th and Washington Street.

Another excellent store.

If you need to find out what public transportation to take to get to Gamescape, you can use http://transit.511.org/tripplanner/index.asp (very handy site in general in the bay area)

But it might actually be easier to just BART to Berkeley since there's two game stores there close to each other (Games of Berkeley and Eudemonia). GoB is at the corner of Shattuck and Center I believe (it's across the street from the BART), while Eudemonia is on University and Shattuck just a few blocks north of GoB.

Generally any one of the four stores mentioned are good places to go.

Parking can be a problem at the Divisadero store. But metered on-street parking can usually be found if you get there early, say before 11 am. Gamescape also has a store in San Rafael, with garage parking just a block away. Besides, San Rafael is a cool town ... it's where George Lucas filmed most of American Graffiti.
