The best way to get an opineon on the games is to play them.
And thanks to Stephen Tavener there is an easy way to do this:

Today is Liberation Day in the Netherlands, commemorating how the Allied Forces drove out the nazis.
At the first occasion in 1946 people had all reasons to celebrate but little means, resulting in a birth wave early in February 1947 which included yours truly.
So thanks to the Americans and the Canadians we got Storisende in the mix.

In fact it is a rather soft deadline. We will not count the votes before tomorrow morning (in Central Europe) and every vote is welcome.
So 23:59 Parcific Time or even more close to the date line will be OK, and we will also not reject a BALLOT that arrives slightly after midnight.

Is the 3rd place a copy/paste error? Storisende should be 3rd.

Anyhow, congratulations to Nick!

Congratulations to Nick and the Hermetica crew. I'm pleasantly surprised that Storisende made the podium. I hope it stimulates more players to try it, thanks everybody!

I just check BGG for the first time today and this is a very pleasant surprise. I'd assumed the "too similar to Go" feelings would knock it out of the running. Wow! Thanks everyone! This game is of personal import to me, so this just feels really good.

Looking at the results, it was a tight race. I like that the games that placed all seem very different, in terms of the charms they offer, and the kinds of thinking behind them. I only got to play Storisende and Necnon this year (it's been an especially crazy year in a string of pretty crazy years, time-demand-wise), so I didn't get to play much. But I have a lot of affection for Storisende. It has a nobody-but-Christian vibe. Squadro looks cool to me in the short-tactical-game-to-have-out-to-play-with-family category, but I regard the purpose and qualities of those games as separate from the purpose and qualities I might vote for in a contest like this (if I voted). Necnon ended up not doing anything for me, even though I thought the concept was clever.
