It's not a big deal, but I'm wondering why the developers chose to include reference DNA cards for the lesser used Corrupted T-rex and chose not to include a reference card for the mutants.

Kickstarter campaign Storytime…

The Corrupted T-Rex was originally only going to be used in the single player scenario and did not include a reference card at all. The wooden meeple version was really last minute, we found out the day before the KS campaign ended how much it would cost to manufacturer. We didn’t hit the stretch goal for it but the community loved it so we basically took a chance on offering it in the pledge manager at cost, knowing if we didn’t get enough orders that we would lose money on it. The response from the community was overwhelming and it had a huge attach rate. Realizing this, and knowing that it was a relatively small part of the game, we wanted to offer a little extra value for people and worked out the details for adding it to the game proper.

However, since the corrupted t-rex was not included on the personal island boards, players would need a reference to use them with the main game. Initially we only had one reference card but right after the initial production copy arrived we were told that there were 17 blank spots on the card die. When it comes to printing, you pay for the entire thing regardless of how much you use, so quite literally last minute, we told them to increase their number to 5 so that each player could have one. Ultimately, this caused more confusion because we were not able to update the rulebook numbers before it went to print.

As for why the mutants don’t have their own reference, we didn’t think them necessary since they are already on the personal island boards and on the standard reference cards. This is actually something we are revising for the 2nd printing. The Corrupted T-Rex cards will have the mutant stat line on the back instead of the generic DNA card back.
