GameScape at 333 Divisidero Street

is one I have frequented. (I live about 100 miles away but stop in when I am in SF.)

If you're in the City, I second the recommendation for GameScape. Great, great place.

If you're on the Peninsula around the Palo Alto/San Mateo area, go to Gator Games in San Mateo. Great brick-and-mortar store with a website that sports a couple of webcams: www.gatorgames.com

If you're in the East Bay, Games of Berkeley.

These locations matter -- the entire Bay Area is so vast that it will take you more than an hour to get from one end of it to the other, so pick carefully

Those are the three I used to frequent, at any rate. I hear tell of another good one out in Oakland, but I forget the name.

You're probably thinking of Endgame, which is in downtown Oakland:

I think you're referring to Endgame in Oakland. That too is a great store.

You might want to visit this thread I started a couple of years ago when I travelled to the Bay area to visit my In-Laws. The responses were great and very helpful.

There was a very similar thread a few days ago: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/220021

The person there was asking for stores near Palo Alto, a few miles south, but got most of the same answers.
