Hi everyone,

I'm working on a sort of abstract war game (similar to Advance Wars video game with Sid Meier's Civilization: A New Dawn) and am planning out the components I'd like. I want there to be different sorts of scenarios, such as target elimination, point capturing, defense, etc but struggling to think of others and what sort of components players would then require. Some of these will be in team colors and as well as neutral. These are essentially tiles which sit on the board Heroes of Normandie-style so adding them is as simple as creating the artwork.

So far I'm thinking of:

- HQ Building: Something for defense scenarios
- Flag: For placing on capture points
- VIP Unit: Assassination/escort missions
- Prototype Weapon: sort of super weapon which can act as unique unit for destruction, or as an intelligence placeholder for "capture the flag" type missions
- Warehouse/Stockpile: Target on board to capture

I think the VIP/Prototype and Flag/Warehouse overlap quite a bit so might be redundant. I have the spaces left over on the component sheet so I have the room to include all of them, but my hope is components with the most potential for unique scenarios possible.

Can anyone suggest scenarios they've seen from war games, especially miniature war games, which used unique assets for either the objective(s) or setup? Thank you for any and all responses.

Not a wargame, but possible source for ideas:

Tiny Epic Zombies: Deluxe Edition- not so much the setup, but for the scenarios...

Thanks for the suggestion. I definitely struggle with creating different mission scenarios as opposed to standard pitched battles so I'll look into this one

Charles S Grant's Scenarios for Wargames or his older Tabletop Teasers. Both are about 40 years old. There is a more recent sequel as well. Not aware of any other similar generic collections of scenarios (not tied to any particular rules system or era/theme).
