With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it is time to crank up the next No-Risk Math Trade to lock in some new games to bring with you to the feast. If you have no idea what a Math Trade is: In a nutshell, it's a way to trade a whole bunch of games by chaining together everybody's available games and matching to what each person wants. A computer algorithm ensures fairness and removes risk: you can only get a game you prefer over what you started with. (Or at worst, you may just keep your original game.) For more info on Math Trades in general, see http://www.boardgamegeek.com/wiki/page/Math_Trades.

WantList format: Please see the Discussion Thread that contains the complete rules.

Note: Vegas Showdown arbitrage is allowed. If you offer a copy of Vegas Showdown, you may list a better copy/offer for Vegas Showdown on your Want List.
In addition, you may include geekgold entries on your want list for geekgold entries that you are offering.

What to do when the results are announced: When the results are announced, item winners (receivers) should contact the current owners (senders), but owners may feel free to contact the winners if they want. You should also follow the guidelines outlined here: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/156295.

Shipping: This is a world wide trade. You MUST explicitly state where you will and will not ship or by the terms of this MT you are agreeing to ship anywhere in the world. You MUST explicitely state how much of the shipping cost you will cover or by the terms of this MT you are agreeing to cover the entire cost to ship. If you place a limit on the amount of shipping that you will cover, then you MUST ship using the least-cost method (unless you and your recipient have come to a different agreement) or you eat the difference. You may NOT specify "mirror shipping" or "reciprocal shipping" or any such concept. Use of any such phrase or concept by the terms of this MT shall mean that you agree to ship anywhere in the world and that you will cover the entire cost. By the terms of this MT, the shipping restrictions (if any) of the person that you are shipping to shall have no impact on your shipping policy. You must explicitely state all of your shipping restrictions. You MUST ship your game within a few days of the trade being accepted, unless you have notified your recipient of an alternate time table.

Software Used: (most recent version of) TradeMaximizer using linear priorities and duplicate protection. Usernames are required. Colons are required. Semicolons are optional.

Max number of offers from a single individual: 42. No individual may submit more than 42 entries. Exceptions may be granted by the moderator.

Total number of offers from everybody (i.e MT cap): Unlimited; however, there is a preliminary "soft" cap of 800. (Concept based on virtually every MT run prior to 2007 and on recent comments from many MT regulars about how hard generating Want Lists has become for unrestricted MT's with so many items).
Additional items can be added once this cap is reached but there will be additional restrictions on exactly what can be added (see above).
Moderator may grant other exceptions to the cap.

Request Geeklist: The request phase is complete. No additional requests can be added at this point. However, the Request List is still important as it facilitates post-cap entries and is a place for offers to be referenced. You do not/did not have to enter anything on the Request geeklist to participate in the trade. You are not obligated to add a game you requested to a want list but you are obligated to submit a want list for a game you've listed (obviously, blank want lists are OK if you end up not wanting to trade for anything, but the more folks add to their want lists the better the overall results will be).

What:
This Math Trade is open to all types of games and limited numbers of game accessories, BGG-specific goodies (with limits), and non-BGG related items (see Restrictions, below). Please provide accurate details on condition, language, and any other important pertinent data for every offered item. Please do not delete items from the geeklist once they have been added. It's totally cool if you don't want to trade an item once it's added--maybe you get an irresistible offer. We've all been there, more power to you, and congrats! But here's the reasoning for this policy: these days a lot of people start tracking what they want early on in a list's life to spread out the effort of going through a whole list's worth of games. If you delete something, that destroys the ordering for a number of people.
But no worries--there is a way to handle removing an item. Simply edit your item and change its description to "Item No Longer Available, I'll submit a blank want list" or text to that effect. You don't have to reveal the details, but you are welcome to insert an amusing story explaining why the item is no longer available if you wish. Even if you do not provide a story, it is a good idea to change the item to something like Tic-Tac-Toe, (gameid=11901) or even "Outside the Scope of BGG", (gameid=23953).

Restrictions on what can be listed:
Only the following items can be added now that the preliminary "soft" cap (800) has been reached:
1. 18XX train games: Are always allowed and welcomed regardless of Average Ranking or Net Demand.

2. High Quality High Demand games: Any game that has an average rating of 7.5 or higher AND that has a Net Demand of at least 25 users (Net Demand = Number of Users Wanting the specific item minus the Number of Users Trading the specific item). When you offer a HighQualityHighDemand item, please include a statement in the Additional Info section of your entry that announces the net demand so that we all can see that you are in compliance with the +25 rule.
(Concept loosely based on Regai's Return of Regai - New Years MT, carl67lp's Tiers of Joy MT, Smilinbrax's Diminishing Returns MT, and citizen k's 6.6+ MT)

3. Requested Items: Any items that have been specifically requested on the Request List associated with this MT are allowed (regardless of Average Ranking or Net Demand--if somebody went to the effort to add a request to the Request List, then you can fulfill the request).
Note: For CCGs, please try to consolidate your CCG offerings into groups that make economic sense to ship. Approximately 2,800 - 3,000 cards will fit into one of the flat-rate USPS boxes (so this is a good number to try and offer).
Note: For Outside the Scope of BGG items, only the exact items requested can be added--Please do not use this as a loophole to add any other Outside the Scope of BGG items. Same would apply to Miscellaneous Game Accessory.
When you offer a RequestedItem, please include a statement in the Additional Info section of your entry that announces that this is a Requested Item (It is also a good idea to go back to the Request List and post a comment pointing to your Offered Item).
(Concept based on Regai's Ask And Ye Shall Receive - MT)

Duplicates: As long as the qualifications listed above are met, Duplicates are allowed. Even duplicates from the same user. I know that some folks have real angst when an individual user offers more than one copy of a game (or offers the same title in more than one concurrent Math Trade), but as long as you have duplicates feel free to offer them. Just make sure not to offer more copies than you can supply.

Sweeteners (or multiple games in one entry): Are allowed. Even after the preliminary cap has been reached sweetners can be added to pre-cap items and post-cap items. Items with a unique GAMEID in the database are allowed as sweetners regardless of Average Rank or Net Demand. In addition Unpublished Prototype, Miscellaneous Game Book, Miscellaneous Game Magazine, Outside the Scope of BGG, Miscellaneous Game Accessory and BGG-specific goodies (including Geekgold, microbadge coupons, and so forth) are allowed as sweetners (and only as sweetners after the preliminary cap has been reached unless they fit into one of the approved categories above). However, the original restriction which requires users to offer at least five (5) games for each one (1) Outside the Scope of BGG or Miscellaneous Game Accessory still applies even to items added as sweeteners. If you are going to offer non-game items (those that do not have a unique GameID), you MUST add the 5 games (under the 5-1 rule above) prior to offering the non-game items.
Note: For GeekGold offers, the minimum amount allowed per offer is 50 GG. Users may not offer more geekgold than they currently have.
If you are going to add a sweetener, it is a really really really good idea to insert both an image (using the imageid= tag) of the item you are offering as a sweetener as well as the gameid (using the gameid= tag).

Please do not delete items from the geeklist. If you no longer wish to trade an item, edit the item, change the description to say so, and submit a blank want list for it.

Who: This Math Trade is open to (almost) everybody and new traders are especially welcome and encouraged to give this Math-Trade-Thingy a try. However, new traders will want to first check http://www.boardgamegeek.com/wiki/page/Math_Trades.

Obsolete info based on where we are in the MT:
Restrictions on what can be listed prior to the first soft cap (800) being reached:
1a. Board Games: Any game (or game expansion) covered by (with a unique GAMEID in the database on) the Geek is allowed.
1b. Tanga games: Are allowed (as long as they comply with requirement #1a above).
1c. B&N Clearance games: Are allowed (as long as they comply with requirement #1a above).
1d. TRU Clearance games: Are allowed (as long as they comply with requirement #1a above).
1e. Thrift store games: Are allowed (as long as they comply with requirement #1a above).
2. CCGs: Any card game (or game expansion) covered by (with a unique GAMEID in the database on) the Geek is allowed. However, please try to consolidate your CCG offerings into groups that make economic sense to ship. Approximately 2,800 - 3,000 cards will fit into one of the flat-rate USPS boxes (so this is a good number to try and offer).
3a. Miscellaneous Game Accessory: Game accessories and BGG-specific goodies (including Geekgold, microbadge coupons, and so forth) are allowed. However, you may only list one (1) of these items for each five (5) games that you also list. So, if you want to enter three (3) GeekGold offers, then you must have listed 15 other games. Please list all these entries as Miscellaneous Game Accessory (gameid = 5985). This 5-1 restriction also includes Miscellaneous Game Accessory entered as sweetners.
3b. GeekGold: See Miscellaneous Game Accessory above. If you meet the 5-1 restriction you may list geekgold. You may include geekgold entries on your want list for geekgold entries that you are offering. Users may not post more geekgold than they currently have. And the minimum amount allowed per offer is 50 GG. If you are going to offer GeekGold, you MUST add the 5 games (under the 5-1 rule above) prior to offering the GeekGold.
4. Miscellaneous Game Book: Are allowed.
5. Miscellaneous Game Magazine: Are allowed. (i.e. AH Generals, Knucklebones, Counter, Dragon, White Dwarf, Game News, Space Gamer, Fantasy Gamer, S&T, WarGamer, Command, Inquest, Scrye...)
6. Outside the Scope of BGG: Computer games, DVD's (especially TV seasons), comic books, graphic novels, RPG items, and paperbacks (especially SciFi) are allowed also. However, you may only list one (1) of these items for each five (5) games that you also list. So, if you want to enter four (4) different seasons of Farscape (as four separate offers), then you must have listed 20 other games. Please list all these entries as Outside the Scope of BGG (gameid = 23953). This 5-1 restriction also includes Outside the Scope of BGG items entered as sweetners. If you are going to offer Outside the Scope items, you MUST add the 5 games (under the 5-1 rule above) prior to offering the Outside the Scope items.
7. Outside the Scope of BGG: Any other non-BGG item not specifically listed above--You must contact the moderator first for permission to add anything else, and these items must be listed as Outside the Scope of BGG; only items with substantial geek value will be allowed, and I will limit the numbers to keep them from overwhelming the list. In addition, you may only list one (1) of these items for each five (5) games that you also list. This 5-1 restriction also includes Outside the Scope of BGG items entered as sweetners. If you are going to offer Outside the Scope items, you MUST add the 5 games (under the 5-1 rule above) prior to offering the Outside the Scope items.
8. Unpublished Prototype: Are allowed and especially welcomed. However, please do keep in mind that others may not place the same value on your prototype as you do.
9. Print and Play games: Are allowed. However, any offer in this category must be for a game that is fully complete and of superior production quality. You MUST exhaustively detail the exact condition, components, and production process. Please use good judgement and make sure a P-n-P game you offer is one that you'd be delighted to receive. In addition, you may only list one (1) of these items for each five (5) "real" games that you also list. This 5-1 restriction also includes PnP items entered as sweetners.
10. Cash, gift cards, & gift certificates: Not allowed this time, but I will probably open up this restriction next time.
Please do not delete items from the geeklist. If you no longer wish to trade an item, edit the item to say so and submit a blank want list for it.

Please do not delete items from the geeklist. If you no longer wish to trade an item, edit the item, change the description to say so, and submit a blank want list for it.

If you have any questions please do NOT add a comment to the Trade GeekList, but rather ask in one of the Discussion threads.
The moderator reserves the right to remove items from the list for any reason.

Re: Thanksgiving 2007 MT Announce/Data-Reserve: Bounty
Reserved for Bounty Announcement and list of winners.

Thanksgiving 2007 Math Trade Bounty

Frequently tips are given to the people that moderate Math Trades. And there has already been 410 GG deposited into my tip jar. I thought that it might be fun to do something with the tips that might make this MT even better. So, I am going to take the total amount of tips given on the Trade GeekList and divide it by three (rounding to integers).

1. After the MT is over, I am going to give 1/3 of the total to the MT participant whose pre-cap entry (i.e. in the first 800) ended up being on the most other users Want Lists AND that actually traded. It is not too late to add some sweeteners!! (Once again a huge thanks to Jeffy for supply the critical data after the MT completes)
Winner: 0336-Antiq ==> "Antiquity" (from WoofWarpWeft)
0197-ToIrn ==> "Tide of Iron" (from Lou-Dawg)

2. After the MT is over, I am going to give 1/3 of the total to the MT participant whose post-cap entry (i.e. qualified entries after 800) ended up being on the most other users Want Lists AND that actually traded. (Once again a huge thanks to Jeffy for supply the critical data after the MT completes). So, this one is still totally up for grabs. All you have to do is enter a super-popular-desparately-wanted game and make sure to trade it.
Winner: 0905-StrCr ==> "StarCraft: The Board Game" (from GameCloset)

3. After the MT is over, I am going to give 1/3 of the total to the MT participant that proved the most helpful during the MT. Obviously, this is totally subjective and will be at my sole discretion. But I will be looking at folks who provided clear concise answers to procedural questions, generally provided useful guidance (especially to folks that may be kinda new at this whole MT thingy), helped to identify post-cap entries that were not qualified in a polite way, helped others understand any other rules infractions, posted comments to the Request List that cross-referenced items offered on the Trade List, were a positive force in this MT, and were just generally... well... helpful. (While this MT would not even be possible at all without tools from userid=JeffyJeff and userid=cokasaki, I am discounting their contribution from their tools as I am expecting that everybody will tip them anyway).
Winner: (userid=JasonRMax)

I was actually thinking of a 4th category but just am not sure it would be easy enough to calculate and don't want to make a promise that is too hard to fulfill. Was thinking of offering gg to the user that had the highest percentage of entries that actually traded, but this one would only be open to users that offered at least 8 entries (partially because there could easily be a 40-way tie for people that only had one item and partially to encourage folks to enter more items which then increases the percentage chance that there would be more multi-game trades which helps to mitigate shipping cost).

Obviously, nobody is going to be buying an island with their bounty, but I will guess that nobody will turn down free GG.

Re: Thanksgiving 2007 MT Announce/Data-Reserve: Daily Puzzle
OK. Our offer submission rate has slowed to a trickle. And we still have many days until the submission deadline (and until the BGG.con MT'ers join in). So, let's have some fun while we wait. Every day or so I will post a question (or a puzzle) that will relate to one or more games being offered. The first person to post the correct answer within the time frame provided will win three (3) GG.
You must have at least one valid offer in the Thanksgiving Math Trade to be eligible to participate. Let the games begin...

Last Puzzle - OK. After you finish compiling your Want List and submit it, feel free to play the "guess the number of trades" game.
We'll make this the last Puzzle 'O the Day for this MT and award 3 gg to the person that comes the closest. You must post your answer at http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/228427. This contest ends as soon as the Official Summary of Want Lists is published. So, entries after that time are disqualified. Good luck.
Here are some hints to help you.
By definition, we will not have as many trades as Boomer's recent unlimited mega-trades. And given current shipping costs we may not even reach the numbers of some of the big no-shipping MT's. However, here are some statistics from past trades that have used similar qualification requirements:
Regai's Return of Regai - New Years MT = 69
citizen k's 6.6+ MT = 89
Smilinbrax's Diminishing Returns MT = 143
Regai's Ask And Ye Shall Receive - MT = 190 trades
carl67lp's Tiers of Joy MT = 216 trades
Winner: (userid=jeffwiles)

11/06 - Probably nobody cares at this point, but just in case... 11/06 - There is one (1) day left to submit offers (tomorrow is the deadline). And there can be only (1) winner of this puzzle. There are multiple games being offered for trade at http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/25570 that support solitaire (1) play. The first person to list them all will win the prize. You must post your answer at http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/228427. And you must list both the title of each game and the GeekList number. If you edit your entry the timestamp of the edit will be used to determine who came up with the correct answer first. If nobody comes up with the complete list, then the person that listed the most correct entries will win. This contest ends at 14:00 CT on 11/06. So, entries after that time are disqualified. Good luck.
Winner: No takers.

11/04 - I hope that you remembered to adjust the time on your clocks today. There are multiple games being offered for trade at http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/25570 that deal with Time Travel/Time Stream Manipulation/Alternate Timelines. The first person to list them all will win the prize. Hint: Remember the sweetners. This contest ends at 18:00 CT on 11/04. So, entries after that time are disqualified. Good luck.
Winner: No responses for this one.

11/03 - Woo-woo. Please read the instructions carefully for this puzzle. There are multiple games being offered for trade at http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/25570 that are Train games, Train game expansions, or games/expansions with a Train theme. The first person to list them all will win the prize. But here is the twist. You cannot post your answer until 17:00 CT on 11/03 because you must capture ALL of the entries that are posted up until 17:00 CT on 11/03. This contest ends at 22:00 CT on 11/03. So, entries after that time are disqualified (and entries before 17:00 are also disqualified). Good luck.
Winner: No responses for this one. (Must have made it too hard or else everybody was just relaxing and anjoying their weekend--or maybe gaming like me!).

11/02 - Ooops. Meant to post this on All Saints Day. There is a game being offered that is set in an environment loosely modeled on Italy in the late Middle Ages. Players choose their own victory conditions: they can focus on population growth, trade, conquest, or city building by choosing their patron saint. The first person to identify this game will win the prize. You must post your answer at http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/228427. And you must list both the title of the game and at least one GeekList number where it is included in the offer. If you edit your entry the timestamp of the edit will be used to determine who came up with the correct answer first. If you have offered this game on the Trade GeekList then you are not eligible to compete for this prize (too easy for you). And if anyone specifically requested this game on the Request GeekList (or "me too" requested it) then they are also not eligible to compete for today's prize. This contest ends at 20:00 CT on 11/02. So, entries after that time are disqualified. Good luck.
Winner: Ender667

10/31 - Halloween edition. Boo. There are multiple games being offered at http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/25570 that are Horror games or games with a Horror theme. This contest ends at 22:00 CT on 10/31. So, entries after that time are disqualified. Good luck.

Re: Thanksgiving 2007 MT Announce/Data-Reserve: WL Format
WantList submission: Want Lists should be sent to RoamDog in a single GeekMail and use a subject line of "(name of this particular Math Trade) WANT LIST from (youruserid)". If you have multiple items offered for trade, you must submit one Want List for each item, but you should combine them into a single Geekmail (it would be helpful if you insert a blank line between Want Lists).

WantList format: It is highly recommended that you use the OLWLG tool (see http://activityclub.org/bgg/mathtrade.cgi ) to create your want list because it is easier and will handle all the formatting for you.
If you choose to ignore this advice and want to build your Want List manually...
It is absolutely MANDATORY to use the full unique 10-character identifier from the Official Offer Summary List for each item that you would like to put on your Want List. Please do NOT make up your own labels.
The full format for each Want List is

(username) YourOfferedItemID : ItemMostWantedID Item2ndMostWantedID ... ItemLastMostWantedID

Note: Each want list begins with your username in ( ) followed by a space followed by the Official Summary unique 10-character identifier (or Label) for the item that you are offering followed by a colon followed by the Official Summary unique 10-character identifier (or Label) for every item that you are willing to accept in excahnge for your item. The username and colon are required. There are no commas between entries.

If you want to submit a blank Want List, please still use the correct syntax.
For example, if the user offering "Battelore" (and a huge pile of other games), did not find anything on the list that would be an acceptable trade, then the Want List would look like this:

(RoamDog) 0906-BatLo :

For an exhaustive list of all the syntax and options available for use in various other Math Trades see TradeMaximizer (link to wiki). However, you probably only need to know two (2) additional things about formatting for this particular Math Trade:

1. By adding ; between wanted items you are telling TradeMaximizer that whatever is after after the ; is much less desirable, but may still be an option. Any number of ; may be added anywhere in your list (except at the start of the list) to indicate multiple groups of priority or large differences between how much you want the items in question. You do not need to add a ; at all if you don't want to. If this does not make sense, please re-read http://www.boardgamegeek.com/wiki/page/TradeMaximizer#toc4.
For example, if the user that offered "Outpost" most wanted "Princes of the Renaissance" in exchange but would also be happy with "18FL" or "Antiquity" and would even settle for "Dune", then the Want List would look like this:

(RoamDog) 0001-Outpo : 0881-PoRen 0820-18FLR 0336-Antiq ; 0177-DuneX

2. Duplicate protection will be used: Please read http://www.boardgamegeek.com/wiki/page/TradeMaximizer#toc5 for exhaustive details on how duplicate protection works. One helpful tip to those using duplicate protection--If you choose a dummyname that is 9 characters long (plus the mandatory % sign) then your Want List columns will still line up since the "normal" labels are 10 characters long.
For example, if the user that offered "Caylus" and "Credo" would like to get a copy of "Vegas Showdown" and "San Juan" but really only wants one copy of each, then the Want List would look like this:

(RoamDog) %SanJuanSJ : 0143-Sjuan 0230-Sjuan 0402-Sjuan 0924-Sjuan
(RoamDog) %VegasShow : 0047-Vegas 0057-Vegas 0059-Vegas 0108-Vegas 0109-Vegas 0110-Vegas 0111-Vegas 0130-Vegas 0192-Vegas 0379-Vegas 0414-Vegas 0449-Vegas 0608-Vegas 0612-Vegas
(RoamDog) 0936-Caylu : %VegasShow %SanJuanSJ
(RaomDog) 0019-Credo : %VegasShow %SanJuanSJ

There's no practical limit to the length of your wantlists. The examples shown above are short merely to save space while still illustrating the point.

One final note on Want Lists. Prior to submitting your Want List, please please please double-check everything even if you used the OLWLG tool. You are responsible for whatever you submit no matter how it was generated. After the Official Summary of Want Lists is published, you will not be able to change your mind and you will not be able to correct typos. There will be a small period of time to validate the Official Summary of Want Lists, but the only errors corrected during this time frame are errors introduced by the moderator (and potentially syntax errors that prevent the TradeMaximizer from running). You simply MUST ensure, prior to submission that your Want Lists conform to the approved format and reflect the truth of what you're willing to get for what you're giving. I know that this sounds harsh, but this point is important and we may have some folks that are new to Math Trades and I don't want you to accidentally accept that partially complete battered and used copy of Monopoly Junior for your brand-new-never-been-played CATAN 3D Collector's Edition. Mistakes have happened before, and folks can get cranky if they make a typo.

If you need to send in an updated version of your Want List file prior to the deadline, that is fine. However, please put CORRECTED in the subject line if you do. Thanks.

Re: Thanksgiving 2007 MT Announce/Data-Reserve: Offers
Reserved for Official Summary of Offers (including official itemID that should be used in Want Lists).

Please do NOT submit your Want List prior to the publication of the Official Summary of Offers List.
When the offer submission period closes, the moderator will produce an Official Summary of Offers List. This list will include a unique 10-character identifier (or label) and optional descriptive information for every offer on the Trade GeekList. Even offers that have been withdrawn will still have a unique identifier assigned to them (but obviously nobody should put these withdrawn offers on their Want List).
The 10-character identifier will consist of
a) a 4-digit number (matching the Trade GeekList number)
b) plus a "-"
c) plus 5 alpha-numeric charcaters.
The 5 characters at the end are an attempt to help MT users make sure that they have the right item(s) on their Want List and may include extra dashes (if a game title is too short) to reach the full 10-character label (and these dashes would be part of the label). Some of these 5-character codes are more helpful than others. However, do not worry if the 5 characters at the end do not seem to match the game title or do not seem to make sense to you. Also, do not worry if the same 5 characters are used for different game titles becuase the first 4 digits in the label will ensure that the 10-character identifier is unique. And do not worry if different characters are used for the same game title in different offers. As long as the 10-character identifier is unique, everything will work out. However, it is important to use the official 10-character identifier (and only this identifier) on your Want Lists.
The Official Summary of Offers List may also include some optional descriptive data for each offer (i.e. name of user making the offer, etc.); however, this additional data is provided as a convenience only. The extra data should not be used in Want Lists. Nor should it be counted on as a factual representation of the offer.
For example,

Identifier |------------------------------------- Descriptive Data -----------------------------------|
0001-Outpo ==> "Outpost" (from RoamDog) (Sweeteners=Yes) (Shipping from US) (Shipping Terms=Limited)
...
0051-Xfile ==> "X-Files" (from jeffwiles) (Sweeteners=No) (Shipping from US) (Shipping Terms=UnLimited)
...
0177-DuneX ==> "Dune" (from sirebelle) (Sweeteners=No) (Shipping from CA) (Shipping Terms=Limited)
...
0336-Antiq ==> "Antiquity" (from WoofWarpWeft) (Sweeteners=Yes) (Shipping from US) (Shipping Terms=L...
...
0484-Wtdrw ==> "This item was withdrawn by the submitter" (from Mr_Bickman)
...
0804-Blank ==> "This item is not a qualified entry" (from Abner1)
...
0820-18FLR ==> "18FL" (from tacman88) (Sweeteners=Yes) (Shipping from CA) (Shipping Terms=Limited)
...
0881-PoRen ==> "Princes of the Renaissance" (from utoption2) (Sweeteners=No) (Shipping from US) (Shi...

After the Official Summary of Offers List is published there will be a short period when all users can validate that there were no mistakes in the list. Technically, the only real possible problems are:
Duplicate - if the first 4 digits of the 10-character label are somehow duplicated on more than one offer
Missing - if there is no label that includes a 4-digit number that matches the number of a valid entry on the Trade GeekList

After the list is validated, everybody uses this Official Summary of Offers List to produce their Want Lists.
It is absolutely MANDATORY to use the full unique 10-character identifier (and only this identifier) for each item that you would like to put on your Want List.

Again, remember that while the official identifier to be used on Want Lists comes from the Official Offer Summary List, the official source of the actual exact details of each offer is the offer entry on the Trade GeekList. Any descriptive information in the Offer Summary List should not be relied on. It is there merely as a convenience. Check the source.

Re: Thanksgiving 2007 MT Announce/Data-Reserve: Want Lists
Reserved for Official Summary of Want Lists.

Please do not publish an unofficial result. I realize that many of you have the software loaded and are capable of producing an unofficial result. Please do not do this as it will just cause confusion. If there are no Want List errors surfaced by the deadline, the Official Results will be published according to the timetable listed above in the header.

The location of the Official Summary of Want Lists is listed below.

Please review this list. If the Want List you submitted to the moderator does not match what is shown in the official summary (i.e. the moderator made a transcription error), please let the moderator know.

If you submitted a syntactically correct Want List and it is not listed at all (i.e. the moderator deleted it), please let the moderator know.

If the Want List you submitted to the moderator does indeed match what is shown in the official summary but it is not what you actually meant to send or not what you now want, there is no need to let the moderator know as no correction of this type can be made at this point.

Please note that the moderator was forced to blank WLs for item 0804 and 0808 as they did not meet entry qualifiactions.

The Official Summary of Want Lists is at

Re: Thanksgiving 2007 MT Announce/Data - Reserve for Results
Reserved for the Official Results.

Since there was only one issue with the Want Lists that was surfaced (and was successfully addressed), I do not expect any issues with the trade results. However, if you do see a problem, please notify the moderator. If no errors are uncovered by noon on 11/13, then we will call the results official at that time.

Posting of Results on BGG vs. blocked sites
Hi RoamDog,

Great job so far!

I have a request. Would it be possible to post the Summary list and any future docs on your BGG thread instead of on Google or other blocked sites? It would make it easier to access for those w/ site filters at work.

It has worked fine for other large math trades and makes it easier to meet deadlines for each phase.

Thanks,

Derek

The only reason I have not is that there are limits to the size of messages. Several of the recent big trades have also moved to off-site postings for that same reason.

No. Did not have time to type in Sweeteners, Country of Shipper, or Shipping Terms.

Who blocks Google at work??? You might as well block access to power because it lets you surf for porn.

There's a problem with trying to save that as a text file... I tried in both Opera and with latest Firefox on WinXP and on both lines are hard wrapped. Saving as html obviously doesn't work too well either

It's also or course missing the TradeMax header with the options (and official names section) so duplicate support and priorities (and probably require username) are not turned on (they are off by default I believe).

Also I think the advertisement line for google docs at the end users will have to edit out manually

I suggest putting the wants (w/trademax header) up as a real .txt file somewhere else as I see no way in google docs to have it not hard wrap lines when saved as text I'd offer but I'm heading to bed, but if you don't find another volunteer, send it to me as an attachment via real email and I'll put it up on my site by noon (ET).

Hmmm. I used cut and paste from the Google doc (on a separate computer from the ID I used to post it) and it pasted correctly into my text editor? No problem at all with extra line feeds. I can add the TM parameters. And the official names section is the Official Offer Summary List doc. I will look for another place to put it but do not have my own servers, etc.

You can use Google Apps for Your Domain (http://www.google.com/a) and page creator to host arbitrary pages or files (up to 100M total), and you don't have to have your own domain so it is totally free (for small business or family versions).

For example, I have http://dl.deepthoughtgames.com hosted there (to host a bunch of files for download that I don't want to pay for the bandwidth for on my server), as well as http://www.proto.deepthoughtgames.com.

I no longer have the email account that I was using back then.
I also get a message telling me that I do not have permission.

My hard drive died earlier this year.

I am probably not going to be able to find that file.

Sorry.

ok, thanks for checking.

anyone else still subscribed to this thread maybe happened to save a copy of the official results?

as a last resort I may just have to whip up a script to reproduce them from the human readable results...
