Aldie made some changes to geeklists today in order to make them easier to search, in the future. Nothing should change as far as their function, but be on the lookout for anything out of the ordinary, and report bugs here.

Probably being worked on, but I'm getting this at the top of the page when clicking on "my geeklists":

SELECT gl.*, gt.body AS description FROM geeklists gl LEFT JOIN geeklist_text gt ON gl.listid = gt.objectid AND gt.objecttype = 'list' WHERE (gl.username = 'puckhead') ORDER BY listid DESC

Not a big deal though.

Heh, thanks--that was accidentally left in from debugging. Thanks for the report.

I'm getting a lot of SQL, plus if I try to edit an entry before I submit it, it knocks out the text that was there before and any new text isn't accepted.

definitely buggy! OK, now we wait for Aldie to get home, I guess. What exactly are you doing to cause the issue? Are you editing an item or the main header, the description, etc?

It looks like the changes broke the Geeklist XML API For example:

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/xmlapi/geeklist/27558

The only thing that returns now is an almost blank template, ie:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<geeklist id="27558">

<editdate></editdate>

I just tried to search Geeklists, and the following is displayed across the top of my screen:

array(3) { ["action"]=> string(6) "search" ["search"]=> string(5) "gamer" ["pageID"]=> int(1) }

Nothing is being returned by the search

Can't search geeklists as John notes above.

In addition, I have Geeklist Comments Hidden by default in my layout...that is no longer working. All comments are now visible by default. (And remain so even after I re-entered my layout settings.)

Except the results are displayed differently than they used to.

The main reason I search on GeekLists is to see if there are any math trades going on.

It used to be that if I changed the drop-down list box to GeekList and then but 'math' in the field, the results would be a list of GeekList subjects with the most recent lists first.

Now it comes back with the entire first post of the list sorted by (I think) oldest first.

Makes it less convienient to quickly check for current math trades.

I much prefered the old way of displaying results: just the titles with most recent first.

I like to look at a geeklist to the list of games first. Then expand the comments as I drill deeper into them. Having the comments open by default makes for long lists to scroll and makes it harder to see the individual entries.

The new search results format and mix (both individual items and lists) would make good secondary options, but it's too verbose for a default. I find that it now takes more effort to find what I'm looking for than before.
