I'm not sure about the coast, but the Orlando area isn't a hotbed of gaming. There's way too much to do here. But there's a few game shops, the 2 most mentioned are:

http://www.coolstuffgames.com/
http://www.sci-fi-city.com/orlando.htm

However, there's another store that sells games, mostly Mayfair and Steve Jackson and other more mass produced games. It's at:

http://www.coliseumofcomics.com/

The one in Kissimmee has a lot of tables to play games at, almost comparable to the Sci-Fi City. Lots of Magic and Warhammer, but they use to do other stuff also.

Surprisingly, Vero Beach has a small but active store and gamer community based out of Davinci's Dreamworks (2230 N US 1 Vero Beach, FL 32960; 772-770-3807). They carry and actively promote Games Workshop, Privateer Press, RPG's, and CCG/TCG's in addition to comics and comic-related merchandise.

Though judging from what I've seen from other parts of the country, we're pretty fortunate to have 7 (counting the CoC chain) well known and functioning FLGS in our community.

http://gamergeekstore.com/ We're online right now, but we want to add a brick and mortar store in the Treasure Coast area in Florida this coming year!
