Hi,
Im new to the site and looking for a website or store in Melbourne - Australia to buy board games such as World of Warcraft. If anyone could tell me some stores or websites with competitive prices it would be appreciated.

Thanks! Harry:arrrh:

Euro specialist: Mind Games Albury and Canberra (www.mindgamesalbury.com).

Wargames specialist: Military Simulations (www.milsims.com.au).

Both of these sell other stuff as well, of course.

New user - have your first tip and some thumbs!
Someone did that to me. so I'm always keen to do the same when I encounter new users.
Yes, dlow picked the one I would have recommended - milsims.
Depending upon which state you're in you may also have a local games store. Ours in WA is Tactics (in London Court in Perth), but Valhalla has opened up again at 396 Scarborough Beach Road.

Hi-

I second David Low's suggestions. If you are in Melbourne, check out FSGW (www.unhalfbricking.com) as well. Otherwise, www.boardsandbits.com are cheap and fast, provided you get enough stuff to offset postage from the US.

Good luck,

Rob S

Indeed, Milsims' name seems to be a hangover from the past; they sell all sorts of things including minis, CCGs, RPGs, CMGs, and Euros, and usually cheaper than anywhere else I've found, especially if you have the patience to wait for one of their regular "20% off all board games" sales. You hear the odd horror story about shipping delays or packaging, but I've never had anything except good service (and I've racked up quite a few orders with them).

Same here - always well packed, always arrived fast EXCEPT occasionally something is out of stock and they put it on back order. I've only ever had that happen when I've ordered their "crazy specials" - and they still honour the special price even when they have to restock to fill the order (you can cancel back-orders if you want to). Of course sometimes things are out of stock because the special was to get rid of the last available stock, but that's to be expected.

Note they have recently stopped stocking Reaper miniatures. I don't know if that's just because those are relatively expensive/don't sell, or if it's a sign that they're moving away from miniatures generally (or maybe focussing on army packs rather than individual minis).

And the search function on their web site sucks. But I can live with that.

Welcome to the site, UbOteX.
Have a poke around the New User Questions Forum to keep yourself out of strife.
Most folks here will be pretty friendly... unless you turn out to be a shill for that store (then there could be trouble devil )

Hey, no accusations here, chief. Just a guiding hand as to how these forums tend to be. You might also want to check out a list managed by Koldfoot (rummages through bookmarks)...

Podcasts, online stores etc.

Like I said: welcome to the 'geek.
