I will be in Sheffield tomorrow, rather unexpectedly, and should have an hour or two to spare. Are there any good games shops you can recommend?

Depends what you like. If you're into wargames (mostly miniatures) then Wargames emporium in Orchard square might be worth a look. Be warned it's not obvious from the outside being on the top floor of a series of small retail units.

It does have a small selection of Eurogames as well, but nothing particularly out of the ordinary. There is also a second hand section which can have some bargains in it - mostly figures and RPGs.

Thanks guys. It's Euros rather than wargames for me but I'll try to track it down and take a look.

It's right next to a Waterstones bookshop, in Orchard Square. The entrance is to the right, up some steps, there are various other small shops (some slightly strange arty type shops) in the same building. You have to go inside and up two flights of metal stairs to get there.

Good luck!

There's also Patriot Games at 1-2 Ladys Bridge, 0114 273 1762.

and the emporium is

http://wargamesemporium.co.uk/

go up the external stairs before Waterstones and turn right at the top. At the end of the walkway will be a door. Go through and up the stairs infront of you to the top floor. You can't miss the shop. Staff are friendly. They have maybe 12 shelves of Euros and the rest of the shop is given over to mostly minis games.

Just wanted to say thanks once again for the directions - I would never have found the Wargames Emporium otherwise. Didn't have time to make it to Patriot Games too, but there's always next time.
