I'll be visiting family in the Mesa/Tempe area over the Christmas holiday. I'm hoping to find a game shop where I can pick up something to play with the family while I'm there (Cash n guns, Bang! or Cutthroat Caverns I think).

I was unable to locate a thread on this topic even though I know there are probably hundreds.

The Game Depot, 3136 S Mcclintock Dr # 11, Tempe, AZ 85282. (480) 966-4727.

It's off Southern and McClintock, just north of the 60 and west of the 101.

It's easy to get to, family friendly, and they have a decent selection of board games.

I'll second Game Depot in Tempe. It has a good selection of games.

I'd also recommend Gamers Inn in Mesa. www.gamersinnaz.com
Well worth a visit on their boardgaming night.

Those are the two best that I've found when I've visited in the area.

oooh, Game Depot is right next to my favorite Chinese Place. Wong's place is right down the street and I ALWAYS go to Wong's place at least twice every time i'm in Arizona. I'm so addicted to the Wong Jo chicken and I can't get it anywhere else.

The Game Depot is in the same center as the Outback, next to the Staples.

Baskin-Robbins is in the center, also, if you are looking for dessert.

Sounds like everyone loves Game Depot. This perfect since we had planned to stop at Wong's place on the way to my in-laws house anyway and it looks to be roughly 2 miles up McClintock.

Now I just need to decide on a game that will play well with 6 (including some non-gamers).

OH nice Game Depot is close to Four Peaks Brewing Co. When I'm out there visiting family I may have to hit it up.

Game Depot has been run by the same family for over 20 years. Dave and Patty (the owners) are amazing people who really care about their customers. Their store is always clean and has great spaces to place, and they are wonderful to the local game developers in the area. They have been my "friendly local gaming store" even when I moved closer to other stores. I've lived all over, but I've never been to a nicer store. If you are in the greater Phoenix area, its the only store you need to visit.
